No one wanted Knecht more than me, and I don't remember any vitriol toward the McCain pick, only disappointment (and some disbelief) over not taking Knecht.

As a fellow Vol fan, I could argue that I wanted us to take Knecht as bad as you did. I even threw a mini fit about it not happening on draft night. Either way...There's still hope for Knecht to be a Sixer one day because the Lakers have already tried to trade him once.

The Arizona Republic reports the story of how Phoenix passed on Kawhi Leonard with the 13th pick in the 2011 Draft because of questions about his shot and nervousness during his pre-draft interview.

Since we're talking about superfluous pre-draft things that have no bearing on their future, I guess Kawhi was also nervous. Incoming 2 time NBA championships and a multi 1st team All-NBA player!

You can overlook things when you're only spending the #15 overall pick and are getting a physical freak with a 7'3" wingspan.

It's a different story at #3 overall and a guy with mediocre size and rudimentary offensive skills.

This guy is the closest person I've been aligned to in terms of the draft. I think he has Edgecombe a bit low, but love the Queen at #3.

I like that Ace Bailey is the exact type of guy we "need", according to this guy, because of his tough shot making. I think we have enough guys taking unnecessarily difficult shots already: Embiid, PG, Oubre, arguably Maxey.

Would be nice if we could get someone who can get them easier looks at the basket since we haven't had that since Harden, and arguably haven't had that any time before Harden in the Joel Embiid era.

Everyone talks about how great the Celtics are. If you actually watch them, only Tatum is the guy who takes tough shots. Everyone else is taking wide open shots because the guards/forwards are creating pressure on the defense and swinging the ball, leaving guys wide open.

Well did he work out in our gym? Maybe he got Fultz'D or Simmons'D. It's not uncommon for guys to join our team and forget how to shoot. Buddy Hield did too.

Neubeck said the information he's getting is the Sixers won't take Tre at 3. But he could be a trade down guy. If they stay at 3 it's Harper if he falls, VJ, or Ace. He said Kon could be a darkhorse for 3, but on the outside looking in.

Based on that it seems the Sixers board excluding Flagg is something like

1) Harper
2) VJ/Ace
3) Ace/VJ
4) Kon
5) Tre

Ace is back on the menu guys!

If Ace were willing to accept he's going to be learning behind PG for the next 2 years, I'd be more open to drafting him.

If he thinks he's a ready-made NBA star, then he is going to flame out faster than people realize.

Edit: I won't be shocked if we get to draft night and Ace is the pick. None of his metrics are Morey-like, but I still don't feel comfortable ruling it out. The way Kyle and Derek, two anti-Ace guys, looked on PHLY today (sad) makes me wonder if they're hearing he's the pick...

Ace will get on board once we explain to him the benefits to his game of the "Tatum Plan." By all indications he's a high-character guy who will be an asset in the locker room. Plus the chance to learn every day from one of his idols and the perfect archetype for his game in PG.

It's a no-brainer that Ace will be happy here to compete right away and develop the right way into a winning player. Which means more ca$h money for him both short... AND long-term.
