I can't see Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland going through 18-20 grueling games. They probably tap out around 10.

rockets 2nd seed last year just got rid of a highly inefficient leading scorer who stunk it up in the first round, and a decent role playing defender, for an elite offensive option. Not to mention internal improvements of young guys like Amen, Reed, Sengun, Jabari, Tari, and Whitmore.

Rockets will be really really good

Looking to the bright future. Great new topic which isn't anything about okc or shai ugh

Next year a new champ should commence.

Except they’re still the favorites given how young they are lmao. Add another gritty vet who can slso bring up the ball and score? It’s over.

Yup. I was thinking Grayson Allen, Scottie Pippen, Bruce Brown types. CP3 and Austin Reeves to a lesser extent.

It’s gotta be so freeing that they literally can do whatever they want. It’s a rousing success if a team gets to a Conference Final with one or two core players still on rookie deals. These dudes just won a ‘ship with two of the better players in the league on their rookie contracts. Presti killed it, period.

with the ton of picks they have they could get a Dejounte or CJ McCollum

Poor Grizzlies. 200 to 1 to win the title in some places

A Dejounte Murray rehabbing a torn achilles?

Only teams I could see betting on are Thunder and Rockets. Thunder are the youngest defending champions in almost 50 years coming off one of the most dominant seasons in league history by the numbers.

Rockets have the best coach in the league, were the 2 seed last year and also one of the youngest teams in the league, and just traded their worst rotation player + Dillon Brooks for Kevin Durant when they badly needed shooting. Plus since they kept all their assets in the Kevin Durant deal, they have plenty of ammo to make another move. Let’s say the Bucks start out 12-18 and Giannis is unhappy. No one’s positioned better than the Rockets to make a big trade.

OKC is going to repeat, The NBA is extremely weak right now. There's no other great teams to give them a run for their money, especially with Tatum and Hali set to miss all of next year now. Denver's the only team that can maybe give them a run for their money because of Jokic's greatness, but that roster is extremely flawed and they have no way of improving it due to the awful contract hey handed out of Murray and MPJ, so it will be more of the same.

I think it's a bit disingenuous for odds to be posted this early seeing the season just ended and the off season hasn't begun in earnest. Hell, the draft hasn't even taken place yet. Now if they want to go about it after training camp and/or closer to preseason, to me, that would make more sense.
