Still have the non tax payer MLE and room to add a couple cheap vets. Player like Kornet for around $5M would be nice. Keep the picks and add talent to the pipeline

Mann and Kobe are trade fodder to get better fits or in Mann's case off of his three year deal

Hawks don't have caps pace, but you are right that we can exceed the cap to sign him. So we should actually do other trades and signings 1st, then re-sign Caris. The order in which transactions occur is important.

If we stay at #13, we will have a shot at any of:

  • Carter Bryant,
  • Collin Murray Boyles,
  • Derik Queen,
  • Noa Essengue.

Noa and Carter are long term projects.
Collin and/or Derik could get minutes as a rookie backing up Jalen.

If I had to select one player, he would be Hansen, the Chinese centre.
If not, one of these three:
Kon Knueppel
Kasparas Jakucionis
Egor Demin

But I would trade one pick to get Cam Johnson and another pick to get an expiring contract or something like that so we create some space for next summer.
My concern is that Brooklyn will want mulitple first round picks for him.

Cam probably won't ever make an all-star team.

I would like to see us give Dyson Daniels, Zacch, and Vit more shot attempts.

These players averaged double digits attempts:
Trae Young
Jalen Johnson
Dyson Daniels
Caris LeVert
Zaccharie Risacher

Close to double digit attempts:
Georges Niang 9.7
OO 9.2

We won't win with this many shot attempts going around. Caris Levert is a non concern because I don't expect him to stay.

For what was published, the Nets just wanted a pick and a player with salary to dump. I understand Cam Johnson does not fit the idea of Jordi Fernández for a PF in the NBA, or that of Sean Marks. Indeed he is a little far from what the perfect PF should be. But if you can afford him and give him a bench role, then that is another question. Cam Johnson is te kind of player that elevates your chances when you use your bench and the quality of the players there is above average.

On the other hand, I expect LeVert to sing the first day of FA on July, 1st.
I agree, Cam would be very valuable off our bench, and Quin can play with rotations. Cam, Zacch, and Jalen Johnson on the court together intrigues me as long as Jalen Johnson is at PF.

Do you expect Levert to sign with us day one of free agency or another team?

I expect him to resign here, as he said the typical polite words about that and it seems like the franchise has that idea. But that is a mystery. Due to the lack of FAs in this off season, LeVert could get good offers, but I see that most teams already have that position well covered.

Kon Knueppel would be a great addition to our team.
Dyson Daniels and Kon Knueppel would be a good backcourt depending on how Kon's defense is at the NBA level.

I hope Charlotte doesn't draft him.

So many moves happening this week! It's going to be hard to keep up!
Will we? Can we? Have we already? Multiply this by all NBA teams!

Who knows what will happen, but I would be VERY surprised if their plan is to go all in on a top 5 rookie pick. Already one of the youngest teams in the league and best player is about to be 27.... I can't see trading three FRPs to move into the top 5 picks

Saddiq Bey was included in the Portland and New Orleans trade today.

Remember when we traded 5 second round picks for him?

He shot a solid 33% for us from the field.

In 2023-2024, he shot 31% for us when he played in 63 games, and started 51 games.

Our front office loves bad shooters.
