I’m a sell high guy, so I can’t agree with you more. Not the right time to trade KP. Really like your point about FIBA. Let’s see where’s he’s at after that tournament, then make some decisions.
On losing to the NYK. I hate it because it’s an excuse. KP wasn’t available a lot last year in the playoffs. It’s a straw man argument to me. The C’s shouldn’t have gone down 0-2 to NYK no matter what. If it was the first time, then fine, no big deal. The real problem, to me, is that sort of outcome continues to happen. The common denominators are Brad, JT, JB. An unpopular take, but that’s how I see it.
I totally agree that the Celtics (Tatum, Brown, Mazzulla and the rest of the gang) choked in that series. 100%. They deserve all of the blame they can get. My point is that they don't lose with Porzingis, which is more a point about his value. They had a real chance to go all the way. Was there anything we saw in the Finals that showed OKC to be invincible
Last year's playoffs? The Celtics were a better team with KP injured than Miami, Indiana, and Cleveland were with significant injuries. When they met Dallas, KP punched them in the mouth in Game 1 with 20 points in 20 minutes and Dallas never got off of the mat.
To me injuries matter. They mostly helped us last year (they certainly helped OKC this year) but the Celtics absolutely gave away that Knicks series and still need to look in the mirror.
