213 was Ballmer's baby all the way. You gonna fire the owner?

We still owe these f*ckers picks y'all. Let that sink in. WE STILL OWE THESE GUYS MORE F*CKING PICKS!! WTF??? You got to be f*cking sh*tting me! WTF was Ballmer and Frank thinking in all of this? Kawhi's coming home to LA/SD, he's getting max dollars, he gets to load manage how he wants, the team is his---- sign the f*cking contract already! Why are you asking for a co-star right then and there at that moment and our groupie front office entertaining this and granting his wished like a f*cking genie! Worst comes to worst you wait until the season starts and if for some reason Kawhi doesn't think SGA is a good running mate, you make a trade for a co-star three months later at the trade deadline for one-third the cost, simple sh*t! But L. Frank and company were groupies and followed him around while he was in Toronto moving sloppy, so bad that the entire league knew how desperate we were.
Meanwhile the rook is starting 73 out of 82 games plus is the starting pg in the playoffs against the powerful Warriors squad but all you can think about is the IG model in Toronto and doing whatever he tells you to do. He wasn't going to win a ring and then crawl under the LeBron umbrella. That would've made him look like a b*tch and a underling. Not to mention he couldn't load manage like that on the Lakers. Its accountability over there when it comes to star players performing. Laker fans don't play that sh*t. He was never going to the Lakers. It was us and us only.
This is a nightmare that I don't believe will ever end. We owe them more picks and it looks like Ballmer and L. Frank have started a dynasty for these guys. They'll keep their core and whenever good role players get too expensive they'll move them and have newly drafted 1st rounders take their place on rookie contracts. Brilliant! But y'all want CP3 back so I guess L. Frank is doing a fantastic job. Can't wait to release/trade Kobe, Cam Christie, Trentyn Flowers, and our 1st round pick this season and see what washed former star with dredge up in the buyout market. Fun times ahead! Can't wait! What a f*cking joke! I can't believe this sh*t!

It was always a chicken and the egg argument. Does Ballmer, as Clipper “governor” (

He chose the latter.
He continues to chose the latter and it makes him a weak owner.
Just as he was too much of a chicken to fire Doc.
Just as he was too much of a chicken to tell Kawhi and Uncle Dennis,”we’re not being held hostage by you, either sign or go elsewhere”.
Just as he, stupidly, backed himself in to a corner by openly courting Kawhi for a full season…
He now, with the same yellow stripe in his back and cocka-doodle-doo spirit, operates this team from the “we gotta new building yall…we gotta put an aging, 50-32, 1st round loser product out there.”
It was also stated his age (63 at the time of this trade) meant he was going to go for it and win now. Lol. Another yellow-striped position to take. He’s 69 now. Wonder what kind of tricks he has up his sleeve.
Meanwhile, if he would have believed in Shai (like many of us said all SEC tournament, all NCAA tournament, all leading up to the draft), he would have an MVP and, at least, multiple deep playoff runs,

What pisses me off the most is all the younger/new fans who keep saying "the team gambled and lost, it is what it is, move on." No, sorry, that's not acceptable. Sure, the team will make mistakes sometimes since it's run by fallible human beings, but the goal should be to learn from those mistakes and never make them again, not to sweep them under the rug and shame anyone who brings them up. The Clippers need to have their noses rubbed in this to such an extent that they'll practically never trade a first-round draft pick or young player again. This needs to be made so embarrassing for the organization that Ballmer reevaluates his entire approach to the on-court product and makes changes.
It's bad enough having to watch this sorry-ass franchise build a dynasty for another team, but it's even more grating for half the fanbase to act like shills and basically guarantee that this team will learn nothing from it and do it all over again in the future.

Nope. The moment we let PG13 go for free last summer it changed, he chose to act like a first class org. Healing started already guys, just relax.

I must have missed when Ballmer followed that up by totally cleaning house with the front office and coaching staff and hiring the best team-builders and player developers in the world to replace them.
And since we're a "first-class" organization now, surely we must have an actual plan to build a serious, sustainable team. We aren't just pinning our hopes on overpaying for the decline years of aging mercenary "stars" who don't give a crap about the franchise in free agency, right?

Agreed. It was never going to be a strict clean house. Looks to be a 2 phase process now. Letting PG go was phase 1 and phase 2 is to reboot after Kawhi’s contract ends.
The only problem is that they look to repeat the same mistake by investing in whatever star(s) available that summer.

A first-class org would have done a strict clean house. Serious question, does anyone think the Celtics, Spurs, Warriors, Heat, etc. would keep Frank in charge for this long with a resume this terrible? At the absolute latest, they would have kicked his ass to the curb after the Cam Whitmore-for-EJ trade. But more realistically, they would have never hired him at all.
Same goes for Lue. You think any of those serious franchises would let a mediocre-at-best coach throw an entire season away by inexplicably giving a washed Marcus Morris 30 guaranteed minutes per game, then answering any questions about why he was doing this with "I don't remember" or "I just felt like it"? This isn't Pop or Spo here where you assume they know better, this is a man whose sole accomplishment in the NBA was riding LeBron's coattails acting like he's the smartest guy in the room and above being questioned. A real team fires Lue for that to send the message that nobody is bigger than the team. The Clippers instead gave him a massive contract extension he didn't earn.
This franchise isn't Sterling-level bad anymore, but it's still third-rate and always will be for as long as Ballmer keeps tolerating nonsense like this. Until then, the new arena and uniforms and logo are all just lipstick on a pig.

And this is the problem. Nobody is coming to save us in 2027. Its not that type of league anymore. The unrestricted superstar free agent is a thing of the past. All supposed stars are under contract with their current teams and it takes a massive trade to get them. The Big 3 "lets team up and get a ring" guys like Bron, KD, Curry, Harden, Kyrie, etc. days are numbered and coming to an end. The mercenary former stars like John Wall and Westbrooks are pretty much gone. The Euro stars don't want to leave the team that drafted them no matter how bad they are. These new kids just want to be in the league, get money, pull IG hoes, be a fashion model, and play video games. They don't want to team up with anybody for a ring and aren't desperate to be in NY or LA where half their money goes to taxes.
Shaq and Barkley scaring stars into ring chasing or else we're going to roast you on TNT is over with. The kids don't care about those two old fat f*cks. WW3 is maybe around the corner. Its a different world now. We better hit on a pick or two before its too late. Unless we want to pay LaMelo Ball $50 million a season for him to chuck up threes and lose 40 games a season just to tell the fanbase we're doing something, be my guest.

You're right and it just makes keeping Frank in charge even dumber. The only "success" Frank's ever had as a GM, which was still very limited, was with Ballmer's unlimited wallet buying him out of his mistakes before it was nerfed by the new CBA. His front office career is the NBA equivalent of a zero-interest-rate phenomenon. But just like real life, the NBA economy has changed, teams have to tighten their belts and he has no answers for the new era because he was never actually good at the job. Ballmer's money just allowed him to play 2K with the sliders down for a few years and he still couldn't win a ring on easy mode. We deserve to finally have a true GM who knows how to build a team, not another failed coach trying to reinvent himself as a GM since he can't get coaching jobs anymore.

You can blame the schedule, but for individuals and their teams, it's still a matter of luck. 213 was undone by it. So was Lob City. So were these guys.
And good luck too--OKC could easily have lost to the Pacers or Celtics [or the Dubs, Steph was hurt] and all this hindsight would be moot.

So the Clippers only valuable asset is Zubac but Zubac is off limits from being traded?
Unpopular opinion, but isn't this the time to trade Zubac? When he is at his most valuable?
What if the Clippers offered him to the Spurs for the 2nd and 14th picks plus a couple of their young players?

I love Zu, but I dunno if he's any better than some guys nobody seems to want like Valanciunis. Their per-36 numbers [18/14/1] are identical.
Zu has special value right here, playing with Beard and being our emotional heart, as well as heart of the defense. He's also the longest-tenured Clipper. I don't think he'd fetch that much back, and we would miss him terribly.

This is just bitter talk. We got it bro it sucks to see SGA winning FMVP with other team and it looks like they will be the top dog for like at least next 5 more years.
But you got to stop comparing Clippers vs OKC thing with that 2019 trade. Every one of you. It's unhealthy. Focus on what you have.
We got one of the most successful season based on the expectations, got nothing but praises in 2024-25. Zu become All-NBA. Norm got career year. Harden returned to All-NBA level. All with Kawhi on the shelf most of season. Solid valuable signings like Dunn, DJJ happened. No Locker room drama, on-court BS. SVG help our Defense became top 3 ranked. Fantastic homecourt opening throughout the season. We got hell of a fight in the playoffs, lost in a 7 game series against the best player in the world. 2025 Clippers is a team any first class org would love to have it. Frank & Coaching presented us their peak performance this season. All we can do as a fan is supporting this 2025 team for trying something different for this time. Hopefully we build on this in 2025-26.
We might not be a top 5 contender, but it ain't hell. It's still fuçking enjoyable, made me proudful to be a clipper fan around my people.

Well said, Captain!
