Absolutely agree. That’s why I think of it differently, it just wasn’t the same as winning the historical NBA title as we knew and know it. Yet players don’t deserve any grief for succeeding within the confines of those circumstances. Heat, Lakers, Jimmy, Lebron, AD, Bam, etc. They did the best they could with the hand dealt, and that’s all anyone could ask.

So you're in favor of ring culture?

I don't see how that question has any relevance to the topic at hand

I don't even think I really know what "ring culture" is supposed to be?

Games are played to be won though yeah

You said essentially the people who ponder these ideas (fans) are to be dismissed because they're not "winners in life".. similar to comments LeBron made years ago (which he regrets btw after the 2011 finals):

LeBron James wrote:"at the end of the day they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today. They have the same personal problems they had today. And I'm going to continue to live the way want to live and continue to do the things want to do."

Implies the bubble "hardest ring ever outside of the Cleveland ring" (according to LeBron) doesn't count.

The full comment was something along the lines of "I got a real ring, no one can say anything". The comment was more about people like you, no offence, always complaining about the bubble champion being worthless than implying the bubble champion ring being worthless.

Impressive how OP did exactly what Caruso implied is stupid, thinking Caruso has his back, the lack of awareness in this thread making is astonishing.

Considering who the OP is, I'm not surprised at all.

But there's no pondering going on here. People like you have already decided that the 2020 championship was a mickey mouse bubble gum ring.

And your favorite team couldn't even win that. Again, how sad.

I’ll hate on the lakers for a lot of things but the bubble championship was legit.

Btw this ring is anything but untainted. OKC got by far the best whistle of any team and their opposing team just lost their MVP in the game 7. Major * ring

Caruso just working the trolls that hate on great players. Same trolls that say GSW didn't skip a beat when replacing KD with Wiggins, and KD had the exact same impact as Wiggins and Harrison Barnes

I will never ever understand the bubble ring talk
Lakers didn't get to enjoy the HCA they deserved, everybody trained, played and even slept in the same exact conditions and yet some still moan and bitch about it.
"Yeah but they played in empty arenas, it was a lower pressure environment etc". Again, that was true for EVERY SINGLE TEAM

Lakers held illegal practices during quarantine.

It wasn't a regular season and playoff grind. If teams could count on a months long break between the season and the Playoffs, roster construction would be vastly different.

UcanUwill wrote:But speaking about Bubble championship, it definitely is a real championship, tho I personally disagree with Lebron that is hardest or ''purest'' championship. I have no doubt that in a lot of ways it was hardest, it sucked to be isolated in a bubble. But in a big way, I feel it was so hard for these guys, that a lot of those teams weren't that upset when they were eliminated, I do not believe they fought as hard to extend their season as it would any other way, I bet a lot of guys were just happy to get out of there and thats it, and in that sense it was easier championship. Props to Lakers for enduring that environment and not giving up, but I do not think it is hardest championship from basketball perspective. Outside the court I agree it was hard, but thats not the point IMO, when guys needed to flight regular airline or even drive busses to other state back in the day, that was harder too, But I don't really care for if Cousy comes out and gives his ''I had to walk 10 miles to school'' talk, yeah, we already know it was hard...

I’m against both sides. Those saying it doesn’t count are full of BS and those saying it’s the hardest championship ever are full of BS.

It didn't seem like it.. hence why he had to announce he had three beers several hours later on social media. It's almost like he's issuing a justification for his out of character comment.. a regrettable act or offense he committed. I believe people from LeBron's camp or LeBron himself reached out in light of these comments on the biggest stage. Got to protect the narrative at all costs.

Except the only people who care about this are people who've never won anything in their lives and that isn't LeBron

Except LeBron does care about it a great deal. Why else would he try to spin the narrative that it was the "hardest ring ever" and whine and complain about not getting "my damn respect?" 'Cause he's an insecure crybaby.

He just admitted that the bubble was an easier experience and that he finally has championship pedigree.

Damn.
LeBron has a 17.8% field goal percentage and a 12.5% 3-point percentage in clutch situations, and also made 20 of 116 game winning/tying shots in 4th/OT during his career

I've never seen a player that is so good but doesn't put up any particular stat that pops off the page at you.

Such a great menace.
