Last minute adjustment, I'm now on Jase Richardson island. Hoping he is our pick.

Well games are played in shoes so he’s like 6’1.
Get some thick heels.... And hit 6'2" ... With a 6'6" wingspan.... Not that bad... As long as we continue with our defensive identity around him.
so Collin Sexton measurements. Sexton with a 6'7+ wingspan

Clayton 20, Raynaud 22, Richardson 24
Fleming is really interesting with that wingspan. Feels like he could potentially afford them the ability to move off Jonathan Isaac if they were so inclined.

I like Flemings archetype. Is he a "rawish" player we need 2 seasons to contribute or is he a plug and play-type like a Raynaud/Kalk

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Thread 2.0
Im just thinking ahead...
Next season with all the "star" injuries... We basically have Suggs and AB to sic on the Eastern Guards.
Watching IND vs OKC... 6'5 guard defenders were used a lot. I think we need 1 more. Thats why im hoping for Proctor/Sion. 6'5 offguards. Cant really expect Franz/JI to guard those speedy guards. The Brown/Cade/Bridges/ yes.. not the DON/Brunson/etc

for collin ...6'7.25" wingspan.... but the same standing reach at 8' 2.5"
So... with effort.... he can guard up at times when switched with the SG. But... that's the perk of having AB. If Jase can be a more controlled version of Cole anthony and better defense.... then.... sounds good to me. He shot 49.3% from the field and 41.2% from three-point range, demonstrating his scoring ability. 3 level scoring potential.... shooting 69% at the rim.... all as a freshman.

Hard to say really.
He’s a three year guy, so he’s played a lot. But he was at a mid major, so his competition wasn’t outstanding.

So a really big unknown if his defensive prowess is effective against... Flagg-tier of players?

I like Fleming a lot. I think he can basically give you a lot of what Isaac gives you for a fraction of the price.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Thread 2.0
Is it just me or is #25 and #46 really important and interesting picks now? I think maybe because the roster is starting to get locked, so these are very interesting players to add and maybe be given more opportunities than a #25, #46 normally would?

Jase and Walter will be off the board when we pick. Give me Chaz Lanier at 25 and Koby Brea at 46. Two shooting specialists and cheap

Yeah he’s on my relatively long list. I just hope it’s a plug n play type that won’t need that much development. All I know is that our bench scoring is garbage as constructed. Weltman still has significant work to do.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Thread 2.0
Latest mock from Sam Vecenie
25. Orlando Magic (via DEN)
Walter Clayton Jr. | 6-2 guard | 22 years old | Florida
Clayton was the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament. He averaged 18 points and four assists this year while shooting 45 percent from the field, 39 percent from 3 and 88 percent from the line. His shot making is truly special. He can get to his shot from any footwork or any angle on the court, especially from distance. He’s comfortable using a change-of-pace dribble to get to a stepback and can also attack and drive off that to score around the rim.
The questions are twofold. First, his ball-screen reads weren’t always on point. He was terrific against Houston in the championship game, but the picture often looked cloudy with his decision-making. Then, on defense, is he too far in-between positions? He got better as a senior but wasn’t always reliable throughout his college career. That’s concerning for an older, undersized player. Still, teams love Clayton’s toughness, and I would expect to hear his name called in the first round.
A few sources have mentioned that Clayton has been hard to get in for a workout recently and may have a situation that he feels comfortable with. This would make a ton of sense. Even after the Desmond Bane deal, the Magic desperately need shooting.
46. Orlando Magic: Max Shulga | 6-4 guard | 23 years old | VCU
57. Orlando Magic (via Boston): Kobe Sanders | 6-7 wing | 23 years old | Nevada

Not sure its an island. I think most would be happy if he's there at 25.

CBS sports draft guy said Clayton had 2 workouts for Miami then essentially stopped scheduling workouts.

He didn't get a green room invite, and that's 24 players. So I assume he'll be there.VFX wrote:eyriq wrote:Last minute adjustment, I'm now on Jase Richardson island. Hoping he is our pick.

Miami seems really high on Clayton. They wouldn't include the pick for Durant.

His efficiency is already a lot better than Cole did in college.

I want Walter Clayton.
Sadly, I bet Miami gets him.
