LOL. There are reporters and there are the self promoting egomaniacs. The king of them all is SAS who is not as unintelligent as most, but cares only about himself more than most.

Breaking news. The Knicks are gonna let the players draft/trade for/sign/coach themselves. It's groundbreaking strategy.

Well, the Brooklyn Nets allowed KI and KD to fire Kenny Atkinson and choose their own coach, after they threatened to coach themselves. So there is a precedent...

"Mike Brown"
"Tyler Jenkins"
"Some guy named Sweeney".....
"A....Borrego?"

"Somebody even said.......Mark Jackson".

I doubt they're gonna talk to all these guys and hire Johnnie. Man...this is like watching Kenny leave all over again.
Still, we have a talented team, and any new mind can twiddle and find what's best for him, unlike the guy we had. As long as the new guy brings back that offense from pre-January and gives other players some burn, I can live with it since I like the team so much. Thibs really was a wet rag over this team for me.
I can live with listening to Mike Brown gargling marbles as long as he unlocks something between Kat and Jaylen.

Idk the original article was he was someone they were thinking about talking too. That feels like such a made up thing to write about since nothing actual had to happen for it to verifiable.
To be clear, this is what the article said
But the first push aside might not be the last and there are still many who believe the Knicks will try again. Kidd has not been approached about an extension or raise in Dallas and his staff has begun to get ripped away. His lead assistant Sean Sweeney is heading to San Antonio where he will be associate head coach after not being offered an extension by the Mavs and rebuffing advances by the Knicks to meet about the head coaching vacancy. Assistant coach Jared Dudley is leaving, too. Dudley is expected to join the Cleveland staff when his contract runs out this week. Developmental coach God Shammgod is also believed to be departing.
The Dallas machinations are particularly interesting because the Knicks' efforts to pursue Sweeney might indicate the fading belief that they can land Kidd. But that an assistant passed up the chance at a coveted first head coaching job with a potential championship contender also shows the questions about how business is being conducted

Knowing nothing about his actual qualifications, I do know Nori is a whole mfing CHARACTER as a personality/interview.

They might not be from the Knicks' side
It could have been Nori's agent or Nori himself or the Timberwolves or anybody outside of the Knicks
Anyways, he is 51 years old and has been an assistant for over 15 years
The time to start his head coaching career is now or never

Yep, now that the season is over teams may decide on moving on from their coaches, shaking loose some possible coaches to consider.
I think most teams would have made those choices. I think most coaches who would want to come here would have decided by now. The off-season is officially under way. The sooner you get to it the better IMO.
This search is dragging it out of me.Three weeks in and we have had two interviews. 5 rejections. Nothing else being reported except the Borrego rumor. It's just weird to me how it is all playing out. No urgency at all IMO.
Yeah why would any other team wait to fire a coach till midsummer? Teams want a coach in place for draft and summer league, well ahead of training camp. I can't recall a coach being fired in July or August, I'm sure it's happened but rarely.
Knicks lack of urgency must be the lack of competition. But surely they'll pull the trigger this week?
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Either that or it is delay tactics waiting out Plan A. Because if one of Brown or Jenkins was Plan A they'd be hired already.

So you really believe the most credible reporter has zero sources with the Knicks?

When did he report on something about the Knicks as the first source in regards to breaking news?
The front office isn't going to give breaking news to someone from another sports agency, especially a Klutch employee in Shams Charania.
Woj was getting breaking news from Leon(Knicks) because they both were CAA.
