Jrue is really well respected around the league but like 15+ other teams are forced to add draft capital to get off his contract. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than smart.

It'll be Jrue and Ayton. Blazers completely undo the Dame trade, and call it a success because they keep the picks they got.

We find a new team for Ayton.

I don't want Jrue back, but this is how Horst works.

That deal leads people to believe that Portland wants to reroute Jrue?

Holy hell, there is no way to make sense of this trade for Portland. Do they really think they are this close to contention in the West? Forking over tens of millions for the perfect Scoot mentor?

I'll rent out a room to Jrue here in Portland. Talk about the Bucks good ole days.

What's most annoying about this is i can already hear Bill Simmons reacting to it with glee.

So they can give his roster spot to someone who might fit their timeline.

Until the trade deadline it’s in their best interest to keep him around in case a team wants off a bad long term deal and will pay them to trade Midds expiring for it. But yeah, sometime before the roster deadline for playoffs, I could see a buy out.

Day 2 of the NBA Draft is the perfect symbol of his legacy as commissioner. He's more concerned about gimmicky crap and unnecessary bloat/content while doing nothing to fix a league that's struggling to adapt to ever evolving player and competition issues (scheduling/load management, frequency of debilitating injuries, flopping/foul grifting, homogenous playstyles/3PT spamming).

tanking is gross. if it takes a second for teams to try for the play in than it takes a minute

So end tanking with a Lottery Ball Tournament that puts all the non-playoff teams together. Worst teams have to lose twice. Upper tier teams lose once and are done. Cut the season then to 74 games (random choice).

It's **** ridiculous how easily Celtics got off his contract, holy ****.
If that was us, we'd have to give like 3 picks for someone to pick him up.

Also, Blazers, what the hell are you doing?

At this point, the Blazers seem clueless so I’d offer Kuzma for Deni and the Bucks swaps back. Who knows? They are a nonserious organization.

The really hilarious part of this is when we trade Jrue again too. What was Sacramento offering?
