we dont want brunson to be our 1a guy because hes a point guard. but kat for damn sure is not a 1a guy. and they are both really bad on defense. I dont know if we can just add a player that gives us what we need. we might need to get off KAT imo.

our finals/championship run has to look like the pacers one. We need the new coach to really improve this team.

KAT's pretty close to a 1-a guy on offense. Why would you say he isn't? Other things need work. More depth. We could use a better 3 pt shooter and obviously defense. KAT can score though.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

Toronto did ok in the 2nd half of the year- they had so many injuries to deal with in the first half. I’m not vouching for them or any of the other teams that might be in contention. But they legit could be a team that makes it into the playoffs.

They were the 18th best team after Jan 1. (We were 13th so not a whole lot better!) and they put together a great record in March (10 & 5) and I think they were trying lo lose games for draft position if I am not mistaken. They finished April 2 & 5.

They'll be a play in team probably but, top 4? Will they even be better than BOS/IND without Tatum/Douchenozzle? It's not like those teams just dropped to the bottom. Indiana can get a stop gap player to help. Boston may have to retool but, they didn't fall off the map so to speak.

I think DET will be better next year without making moves and getting their team back healthy. They were missing a couple of guys and pushed us to six game They actually can make moves though. Orlando should be a solid team. They lacked shooting and just added Bane. I don't think that vaults them to the top but, they should be a tough team. Cleveland is well coached and even without Garland they will make the playoffs again.

I don't see Toronto as a playoff team. So that means top 7-10 is where I have them. Lingering around with CHI/MIA.

NYK
CLE
ORL
BOS
IND
DET
MIA
CHI
TOR
MIL

Not necessarily in this order but, top 6 and bottom 4 should be close to accurate IMO. Mind you, the off-season could change this.

Edit: forgot about ATL. fck them!

For long time I honestly did think Brunson was going to be that guy to lead us to a championship. Have to now admit I don't feel that way anymore. The Indiana series really made me look at him differently. I think he's a very good player but he's not the best player on a championship team. So unless we acquire someone better than Brunson or pair him up with a second star who really complements his game (not Randle or KAT) I just don't see this ending with a parade.

And it's hard to picture Dolan standing on that podium holding the trophy too.

Next year is the window, the team has to make the finals and get it done. The road to the finals has never been more open.

Well, sucks for you. What will you do next season when he's still one of the best PGs in the league?

Just for mental reasons tbh. As soon as Ant started rising KAT was the first person to defer and play 2nd fiddle. He played in minnesota much more like a true floor stretcher in his last couple years there. He has more talent than Brunson but he concedes and naturally gravitates to the sidekick role. and i see that in a lot of games.

he can do more, he has shown that. but he has to force himself to do it. dunno if you get what i mean. but i cant explain it any better.
im bout dat action boss

Jury is out for me I need to see what a new coach will do with our offense and how to get other guys involved; is brunson capable of anything else or will
he still continue to dribble the oxygen out of the basketball; also have doubts with kat and brunson in same lineup; a weak defender paired with a totally lost and aloof big.

They have a low post scorer in Poetl. An oversized guard in Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram. Then they can go big or small with RJ and Quick. They have shooting. They will surprise.

Me too. I don't like our chances against OKC, but it would have been cool to face them and just make it to the finals. I don't like Indiana, but props to them for wining as much as they did.

Probably the same thing he did when Chris Paul, Kemba Walker and Dame Lillard where some of the best point guards in the league. Not hang a title banner.

There have been basically 2 championship teams in the history of the entire league that had a small guard as their best player. Curry and Isiah.

We aren't winning a title in the Brunson era barring some miraculous injury luck on the West side, and some pretty good health luck on our side to get out of the crippled, weak, pathetic East.

We can't improve through the draft, we're out of assets with the exception of Brunson himself (on a great contract for his production) so we aren't getting better through trade ... and it's a mature but not old roster that isn't going to just become better at basketball.
