I will just fall back on an NFL draft aphorism and say it doesn't matter where you draft them, it matters how they play. just get the right player and everything else will just be noise.

i'd be feeling this sentiment a lot more if we weren't throwing away entire seasons of zero winning effort solely for the purpose of these draft positions. they have an obligation to maximize return either in trade or getting talent. dont leave value on the table taking a guy at 4 that you can get at 8. if you're going to operate like that then put a real product on the floor

In terms of a Wizards trade, I would certainly do something like 4/34/Green for 6/18/Kispert

I don’t want to stay at 4 and pick.

For me it’s either: VJ is really our guy, let’s see if we can toss a 2nd and eat one of Philly’s bad contracts and just get him at #3. If the front office has conviction in VJ I would not complain at all about that.

Or, we dangle the enticing Ace option to one of the 6/7/8 teams and pick up an extra first (or ideally, a real player instead of an extra first). Still get one of Tre or Kon guaranteed if we move down to 6.

I will say, if we engineer a trade down I hope it’s to 6 and not any lower. Even if you go to 6 you’re gonna get one of Kon/Tre

Hmm so Kon might be smokescreen and we really want Bailey. That would set the board on fire lol

Yeah this Kon stuff seems like a smokescreen. He's the only top prospect known to workout for us.

That would be dumb on our part to select the only guy who worked out for us. You take the best prospect available even if fit is in question.

There is no way you can tell me with a straight face Kon is a better or have a higher ceiling over Ace/Fears/Tre.
