i think this is some sort of aggragated nonsense and not real reporting BUT rj + 9 for claxton + 19 work in the trade checker.

This is the quote from Brett Siegel's article, which was just published less than an hour ago:

Is there a potential trade brewing between the Nets and Raptors that could see Barrett and the ninth pick go to Brooklyn? This is something many around the league are keeping an eye on, as there is no guarantee Toronto will keep the ninth pick in this year's draft.

The next order of business in Boston is trading Kristaps Porzingis, sources said. As he enters the final year of his contract, Porzingis has drawn interest from several teams in both conferences. The Pelicans, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, and Toronto Raptors are a few of the 10-12 teams that have been in contact with the Celtics recently not only discussing Porzingis, sources said.

i don't see masai trading out of the 1st round completely so the nets would make a good trading partner because they have firsts we can get back.

Cam Johnson in this organization would be perfect. We'd max out his potential

I dont think we were sold on the idea of tanking, only to end up with a mediocre pick and some role players that aren't much better than what we have.

Cam Johnson would be nice. Unless we're reviving project 6'9, are we playing Cam at the SG? And Claxton isn't that big of an upgrade over Poeltl

I think the get here is that you have Poeltl AND Claxton. and our center rotation is rock solid.

Jesus if we trade the 9th pick. We better be getting multiple future firsts back. Not a fan of transactions like this in general

This nets rumour has been around for a while and there have been multiple reports about them wanting to add a second top 10 pick. If the Raps really wanted this deal, it would done already because the Nets wouldn't say no to this.

Maybe the Raps would be interested on draft night if none of the guys they like are around at 9, but I really doubt something like this happens.

all these rumors for the last couple weeks in conjunctions make no sense, aggregating, vs getting more assets, keeping jakob and extending him and looking for a C etc etc.

only thing that makes sense is raptors make calls, to see if its cheap and then they will pursue it

the questions to be asked are these:

1. who would you rather be paying in 27/28 - rj or cam (both need to be extended)?
2. who would have more value on their extension in terms of trade - rj or cam?
3. who fits the team better right now for the next 2 seasons - rj or cam?
4. who is more tradeable as an expiring next summer/deadline - rj or cam?

if the answer to most of those is cam, then him being 30 doesn't mean anything. imho, cam will always have a higher value because his rep is a 3 & d shooter.

RJ + #9 for Cam + #19 is such a garbage trade.

he was a super senior when he was drafted 5 years in college, one of the reasons suns took him cause they were in the winning phase at that time, was considered plug and play.

The only thing that'd sap my excitement for next season would be tading the #9 pick. I want our rizz to grow organically.

With neither one being able to make a critical FT. Claxton is as horrific as Poeltl at the line.
