If the Jazz decided to pivot to talent rather than draft asset acquisition mode (not what I would have them to do, but hypothetically), how much value would they need to add on top of #5, Sexton, and Clarkson to acquire Maxey from the Sixers? Does the best of UTA, MIN, CLE, and LAL FRPs in 2027 get there?

I was debating a framework of 17/DiVincenzo for 12/Ball. Thoughts?

KP and 13 to NOP
Herb and Olynyk to Atlanta
Niang to Boston

Atlanta adds two good fitting pieces, even if they’re not starters would play big roles.

Boston cuts 22 mil.

NOP takes an upside shot on KP/Zion playing 40 games together while getting a late lottery pick for Herb?

think atlanta's 2-4 starting spots already accounted for... i kinda like a Mann/Niang for KP straight up for them

Lonzo? CHicago has the 12th pick not 10

Yeah I didn't edit it fast enough. Meant 12.

Do they though? I think they want Giddey to run the show as a PG. It's just White and Huerter otherwise, and Huerter has some SF flexibility.

My one line reasoning said neither guy would start. So we agree on that, I just think 25-30mpg of Herb and 18-22mpg of Kelly is worth pick 13 even if they aren’t called starters.

I do like Atlanta taking the chance on KP’s health for a year. And Boston/Atlanta working together on dumping either (or both) of those players on other teams.

Kind of like Moody backfilling Bane’s spot, while they might subsequently move Hield elsewhere. And yes there are a couple of small contracts that also need to move (maybe a decent cheap backcourt player back from MEM to GS but I don’t know which one) and maybe some smaller picks go somewhere.

I love the idea of KP in GS, but this doesn't seem like we're giving up enough even with his injury and contract issues. OTOH, I'm not sure we could really offer much more.

memphis is trying to cut salary, not add more

Like I said it’s assuming Hield can be moved elsewhere so it’s irrelevant to their salary other than cutting it a bit.

Interesting I thought there’d be more value issues from the GS side but not really sure there. Thought about adding one of TJD or Post in but wanted to keep it simple.

Local reporting and Stein saying the rockets want to trade back into the first round. What's the best pick the best of BKN/Houston in 27 can return?

I don't have any issue with including either TJD or Post. Take your pick.

Brooklyn has 4 first round picks including 19, 26, and 27. I have to imagine they'd part with some combo of those. What are the protections on the HOU/BKN pick?

I'm not sure that divincenzo has more value than ball. I think their value than s at least close enough not to warrant this sort of pick swap. Maybe the bulls send a future 2nd in addition to ball.

Whitmore for 26 or 27 makes a lot of sense, maybe Houston kicks in a 2nd.

I think Houston smartly moves Jabari for a late lottery / early teens pick and resets the rookie contract while trimming 6-7 mil..

That's what I've felt about Sheppard for them. Just expensive if he's not going to grab a role for where they are at.

Does seem like GS makes a lot of sense, either them or New Orleans.

They still love Sheppard according to everyone, they're gonna play him this year

Houston has swap rights with BKN unprotected so it can be their own unprotected swap back if Houston wants in or the pick outright but would not be unprotected in that case
