Re: 2025 NBA Draft Discussion Part 9
Fears is my favorite of the high upside long-term, can’t shoot yet but might someday, offensive prospects. He has several elements seen in star scoring PGs who are among the most desirable players in the sport.
I would be willing to gamble on him but I also acknowledge that there’s the risks to him.

This would not surprise me at all. I think there’s a very good chance we take him if Maluach is gone and we don’t get a trade down offer that we like.
I also think we’re high enough on him that we just take him regardless and don’t risk moving down.

We're not trading jack.
I'll confidently say that the player we select at #9 will be there to start the season.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Discussion Part 9
Demin is another player teams have found tough to pin down in terms of his landing spot, having worked out for the vast majority of teams inside the top 20. Teams believe he's a candidate for Toronto, Portland and Chicago as well as a sleeper target for Brooklyn, but it's possible he'll slip past that -- at which point there's a best-available case for a team such as the Hawks to simply take a swing.
Holding this pick and No. 22, the Hawks have the ability to move around in the draft, but they are in position to go best-available and pair the picks positionally if they stay put. Other players tied to Atlanta include Carter Bryant and most of the bigs in this range, including Beringer, Murray-Boyles and others.
At his size, Demin's potential versatility as a perimeter playmaker stands out in the context of this class. The development of his jumper, something he has worked to showcase in private, is one of the more pivotal swing skills for any prospect. -- Woo

Coward is Jalen Williams redux to me. One of those guys that just looks the part and produces but falls because of the level of competition. Then you’re looking up in like 3 years and he’s averaging a super efficient 20+ and wondering why there was ever concerns when the skills were clearly there.

I'm skeptical of him as well. If I'm taking a guard with a shaky jumper, I'd want them to be a special athlete e.g. Rose, Ja, Russ. And I don't see that level of athleticism with Fears.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Discussion Part 9
Sam Vecenie had us trading 9 for 13 and 22 and a future 2nd and then taking Joan Beringer and Will Riley. Interestingly he had us trading down even though Maluach was on the board.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

Yeah but i just don't see a team throwing out alot of assets to move up to get a Queen for example if Newell/CMB/Wolf/Sorber/Flemming will be on the board....Maluach we could prolly start a bidding war....But he would have to be there at 9 for that to happen.
Okc traded 3 1sts for Dieng. Theyre in a position where they have too many assets and end up losing assets due to not enough mins. Its in their best interest to trade multiple for 1
We are also not in a position to be picking 4 rookies in this class alone....We already have a majority roster of 1-2 year players....Adding a bunch of rookies to a team that wants to compete would not be wise for winning in mind.
That's why im saying, sixers 26 and 44. Package the 2nds and move up. Still only 2 rookies like currently

I like this crop of big men quite a bit, so I wouldn't mind trading down if we're still able to land one of Queen, Newell, Beringer, Sorber.

Coward/Bryant/Fleming/CMB id be pretty happy with any of them. I’m assuming Maluach is gone as somebody ahead of us has to be tempted.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars
Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid
There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

I just hope at this point that we aren’t trading out of the first round completely
The rumours about pick #9 is worrying me although I would be okay with a trade down trade .

Interesting... I see Fears as this years most underrated player in the draft. Would take him 3rd. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being one of the best players in the league. Hoping he is one of those lottery guys who just slips too far.. Steph Curry (7th pick), SGA (11th pick), Haliburton (12th), Lillard (6th)
Heading into the draft three of those four guys were elite shooters, and SGA had great size and athleticism for a guard. Fears has...?

why would you be worried?
we can't realistically draft another 4 players, so trading down is a bad idea. You take the best player with the most upside at #9 IMHO.

we could trade down. but if maluach is on the board and then we trade down to take another center... it makes no sense, if masai prefers khaman he would just take khaman
