Great for Wiz, putrid for New Orleans. WHy did they hire DUmars?

All of these trades (Minus KD to Houston, which this board was spot-on about) include players we thought would or could be moved, but the combinations were missed. Incredible off-season so far.

I've been banging the drum that this board overrates how much it "costs" to move bad contracts for years now, so I'm just gonna pat myself on the back a little bit here.

A lateral trade on it's face. One less year of big salary for the Wiz swapping CJ in for Poole.

Honestly, it's alright for both. Personally, I wouldn't take on Jordan Poole's extra year, but it's not completely putrid. I think it's a clear win for Washington, but I understand why New Orleans would give it a shot.

Neither #23 for a future pick or this are huge moves by themselves, but they both appear to be trying to get better now rather than accumulating future assets. Wonder if NO is trying to make moves up the Western Conference food chain.

Poole was much better this year, 20/4.5/3 on +34.0 TS+. Being able to put him off-ball more should increase his efficiency even more, so next to Trey/Zion. He has a salary for this coming year and the following season.

Poole is an upgrade to C.J. at this point, how much? Let's find out.

Paying Poole and Dejounte seems like a great choice.

Pelicans save ~7M in this deal this year, but take on an extra year of Poole and Bey.

This was a great deal for Washington.

Clear cap in 2026/27 except for Kispert and team options.

Not sure what direction Pelicans are aiming for...
I like it for the Wizards, they shouldn't have traded for Poole in the 1st place.

Feels like a nice dump for Washington rather than risking Poole revert again.

New Orleans is a confusing spot. But doesn’t seem horrible. Though I did suggest Poole to Dallas and get yelled at. A lot.

But maybe Dallas can get CJM easier now?

Of all the choices they could have made, this is certainly one of them.
