I know we (myself included) clown on the Wizards any chance we have, but their front office has been really really good as of late and they deserve a lot of credit. They’re no longer the Wizards we all know them as and should be taken seriously.

The fans should be excited for what’s to come.

Great deal for the Wizards. They clear the books for next year getting off a bunch of bad salary by swapping irrelevant players. Even if they can’t find anything good in free agency next summer, they can always gain assets in trades with teams looking to shed salary to get under the aprons or the tax. Clear 100% win for Washington. No idea what the Pelicans are thinking.

This is great for Washington. With Middleton and McCollum, they have a LOT of money off the books next year (both expire after the 25-26 season). WAS will struggle from the PG position, but it allows them to draft one and build from there, or grab some other younger prospects as FAs. CJ is a pro, and will help this team off the court as well.


NOLA needed a PG also, and scoring - as Murray is hurt. Poole's contract is not overwhelmingly long or prohibitive, but also not the best ceiling raiser for this squad. More confusing from their side, but I get it for at least a stop-gap until DJ Murray is healthy.

New Orleans should just hire Sam Hinkie and tear that **** down to the bones and bleed off everything for future assets. The moves they're making are dumb as hell and don't make them better in the short term or the long term.

Decent move for the Wizards. They get a cheaper and better version of Poole who is a good vet presence and expires next year.

A study needs to be done on how the Dubs won a chip with Poole as a contributing player. Don't understand the trade for New Orleans but you never know, it may work.

How is this not a big win for WAS? They just cleared $40m+ in salary for the 40th pick. If the 2nd they get back is 47th (or something) they just dumped $40m for the cost of dropping 7-10 slots in the 2nd round. If they can use that cap space they opened up for anything positive at all they’ve come out way ahead.

Terrible for NOP. They were just about to get off CJ’s bad deal and now they go and add another year with a similar bad contract in Poole. What are they doing?

Jordan poole on the pelicans will bring offense when zion doesn’t play. He will be the third option on the team when he does play. This is a better situation for Jordan poole.
