Guess this means we're definitely going guard at 6 or 18. If McCollum becomes a hoped-for expiring-to-move we'll need more help. Unless they're banking on Johnson...

There will be contenders looking to trade for McCollum on a short-term rental since his deal expires after this season.
Also might mean the Zards are making room for Tre Johnson or Fears.

100%. He'll be 34 in September but he can still help a team, maybe off the bench. About a 40% career three-point shooter. Give him 25mpg intead of 33 or so and he'll be productive. Of course, they thought they could do the same with Brogdon.
You think he comes off the bench? He just scored 21 a game last year...I'd rather buy him out and let the young guys get burn.
On this team, I could start. Again, we thought they'd do that with Brogdon and he did what he always does, play half the season. I'd like to get something for an expiring contract. I know he's better than Brogdon and teams can always use a scorer, even if he's undersized and old.

I don't think trading Poole should change what they do tomorrow night at No.6, assuming they don't trade up or back. That they should pick a 1 or 2. Take the best player.

Presumably the 1st among several moves.

Anfernee Simons, Jordan Poole types don't have much trade value.

Right. And this makes it sound like it is Coulibaly that they are trying to trade to move up.

I agree this looks like the precursor to a draft day move that absorbs a haul of salary in order to pull in extra picks.
PG13 for the #3 or something to climb up from 18.
Feels like step 1 of another move.

Maybe something involving Beal&10th overall.

FA class isn't great for '26 unless for whatever reason Luka just wants out.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Yeah…you gotta figure the timing of this trade has something to do with tomorrow’s draft.

Yea, that was laughable. Some people were saying if Bane was worth four FRPs, Poole was worth two

And this is a great move. Finally got rid of the running joke that is Jordan Poole. Good riddance.
