That was small then, tiny now. If his shot wasn't falling he couldn’t give you much else. Clayton atleast has average size, length, and good weight. I can imagine him turning into a decent defender (especially team defender). I also think he's an underrated athlete, he tested well agility wise at the combine and had a couple nice dunks this season.

I really like his ability to shoot anywhere and in any way possible. Spot up, catch and shoot, off the dribble, off dribble hand offs, mid range, deep 3s, even the mid range. He even finished 60% at the rim this year. I like getting a rookie that can actually shoot out the gate for once. And he can run an offense.

Walter Clayton Jr, Jase Richardson, Ben Saraf, and Will Riley. I would be shocked if one of them is not a Miami Heat tomorrow if we keep the pick.

Clayton Jr, Richardson, Proctor and Coward

Procter is too high for 20 and I got Coward landing with the Grizzlies or OKC

risker, higher upside then Walter Clayton Jr.

He's the type of guard we should bet on.

Unless they think they can get Walter Clayton to lose some weight and get more explosive and quicker, I just don't see the appeal of a small slowish guard, sharpshooter or not.

Tbh Coward is a guy that baffles me with how much he rose. I understand the archetype, 3&D wing with great shooting, athleticism, and length. But he has barely any evidence against quality competition. 6 games this season. Why he is he getting so much play compared to guys that have an entire season or even took their team to the tournament?

Absolutely not thrilled to draft WCJ, but it very much looks like they will, unless Jase drops

Really you think he is slow? My concern is his explosion in concerns with verticality when he leaps not speed on the court. He looks to be one of the faster players with control out of all the prospects.

He moves like he's 35YO.
You can be small or slow, you can't be both.

I like his jumper but that's not enough for a starting guard.

Was concerned about him getting hurt right before the draft. Hopefully nothing serious but people were saying Topic’s injury was nothing last year too.

Tbh if you think Clayton is slow and small, Jase is probably even worse. Hes not some elite athlete and may be even smaller than Rozier. Its the reason why he's even in our range right now.

Very wise for us to work him out. WCJ, Jase Rich, and Traore one of these guys will be a Heat tomorrow. We always take the guy we work out and impresses us the most.

I want all the above to be available at 20 when we pick. Then I will be super happy knowing that we chose the best option for us.

Return to Miami Heat
