My list is now at:
Wishlist:
- Kasparas
- Maluach

Fine with the following if picked:
- CMB
- Newell
- Sorber
- Essengua
- Bryant

Anyone else will kinda be a disappointment in my eyes for now

Felt better about this before the Phoenix/HOU trade, but have a weird feeling that Maluach slides and we snag him. Maybe at 12, maybe we move up a few picks. No sources, just gut, Maluach will not be drafted top 9.

I still would prefer a trade down with Brooklyn (#12 and #45 for their #19 and #26). Then I'd take Rasheer Fleming and the best remaining Center on the Board. Kalkbrenner would be perfect at #26 if he's available. If we could get Fleming and Kalkbrenner it would be a great outcome.

To each their own, but to me that sounds like one of the absolute worst case scenarios possible for the bulls, they need talent not ok depth. if we had a good team that just needs some pieces, sure, trade down and get depth pieces but right now there is not 1 guy on the team that i say is A-level talent, and struggle to see any as B-level talent. No #12 isn't likely to get you that guy either but its surely a better spot to be in to get a good player (Matas). We need that third future guy for Matas, Giddey, to build around and hope that we find a way to find our top tier guy either in another draft, FA, or trade

I kind of agree with you, but with the exception of a handful of guys (KJ, cough, KJ), I don’t see a lot of distinction in talent level from around 10 into the late 20s.

Guys with similar evals on my end (not similar players or even similar floor/ceilings, but just risk/upside/downside/skills all factored together coming in around the same) include: Essengue, Demin, CMB, Newell, Beringer, Bryant, Coward, Queen, Sorber, Kalkbrenner, Saraf, Clayton, Richardson, Reynaud, Wolf, Coward, Fleming… probably a couple more from the group who I think may have slightly worse risk profile (Lanier, Clifford, Gonzalez, Penda, Traore, McNeally, Riley, and maybe Broome and Bates and a few more a touch below them)

If you are trading from 12 just to get 19 & 26. That GM should be fired on the spot.

Agreed-ish. Bulls trade 16 and 19, plus a late 2nd rounder, to get to 11 for McDermott (and Randolph). Probably a bit of an overpay, but so much more than the combined value of 19 and 26. Now, if Brooklyn wanted to take on Jevon Carter, as well…. Not a huge reduction but even clearing that roster spot (Tre Jones comes back?) could be helpful.

Who available at #12 do you guarantee is going to be that much better than drafting Fleming at #19? The draft is a crap shoot after the second pick. Fleming has the length, the defensive switch ability, the rebounding and hits a decent percentage on 3s. A front court of Matas, Fleming and a decent center isn't a bad combination. To get Kalkbrenner at #26 would also fill a big need. Getting both Fleming and Kalkbrenner gets you more talent and fills two needs better than any single player that is likely to be available at #12. It's taking a redundant big guard like Demin at #12 that should get AK fired.

I get the logic of more bites at the apple, but I don't think you trade down from the lottery to do it. Fleming is intriguing, but I wouldn't say anyone in the 19-26 range is just as likely to hit as someone at 12.

Better then Fleming?

Carter Bryant

Collin Murray-Boyles

Cedric Coward

Asa Newell

Thomas Sorber

Egor Demin

Derik Queen

Kasparas Jakucionis

Joan Beringer

Bulls don't need to fill out the back end of the bench. They need starters. Neither of those guys you brought up project to that. That is there upside play.

There was once a dream that was the Bulls 2025 draft selection, you could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish....

Here's one for the top 14 picks. Lot of mocks linked at the bottom.

https://www.nba.com/news/2025-consensus-mock-draft

The problem with consensus mocks is that by averaging the rank of prospects it ignores intel that says otherwise.
For example in the composite mock Queen goes 12, however Chicago has never worked out Queen and we've never picked someone we haven't worked out in the 1st round (we did pick up Ayo without seeing him because he was a 1st round drop).

No individual mock should have queen to Chicago unless they are a big board and not "intel from our NBA contacts," and big boards are all ignorable.

True but it works for my purposes of getting a somewhat hierarchy so I can learn the prospects

Sticking to my guns here and going with Carter Bryant as the combo of BPA and need. That's followed by Essengue, Newell, CMB.

I'd be happy with any of those and think they could all mesh well with Buz and Giddey, assuming that we see those two as the long-term building blocks for a young core

P.s. whoever made the comp of Newell to Joakim Noah, I like that. I can kinda see it

Tre coming back as a dude who experienced a strong amount of success in Billy's system would be wildly helpful. Carter has proven for years that he's not gonna get into Billy's system, and as unfair as that maybe, we have to roll with the reality unfortunately. I don't hate this trade, especially not if Maluach and KJ are off the board. Idk that the FO is anywhere as ambitious as you, MG8. I wish they were, brother.

Night before draft

I'm good with: Coward (my guy), Maluach, Queen, KJ
I'm iffy on. CMB, Fears, Bryant, Sorber, Newell, Wolf, Essengue
I'm out on: Demin

In my opinion, this draft is deepest at range 9-18 with quality guys. There are a lot of potential starters and high quality rotation guys in that range. . I'm less high on 2-6 who i think have less potential all-stars than you expect at that range.

Return to Chicago Bulls
