One could argue that the ring was 5x on return of investments. That ring was everything plus you received those two players at different parts of their prime and career.

Definitely worth in the end.

True.

Some of us have been waiting for Banner 18 since 2010.

Maybe 5x is too much, but I'll take it!

Well, I thought we did well in the Jrue trade. The KP one is... underwhelming. But we're under the second apron, so yay, I guess. The on court product next year is likely to be pretty rough. Someone mentioned we might still be a 50 win team. Not seeing it.

Center position is currently fugly.

Both those guys couldn't rebound to save planet earth.

We gotta do better

Well looks like the next few years will be grim unless we find a big

Why stop here.

Get under all the taxes.

You don't have any room to make this roster better and anyone who claims were better today than two days ago is wilding.

I was just being facetious. Posts that basically just say "Can confirm." are useless, imo.

That’s how teams keep losing. Making crappy deals like that. Just because it’s the #4 pick in a bad draft doesn’t mean that it’s valuable.

Can someone more familiar with the draft prospects tell us about this guy from Illinois?

This is my focus for the summer: do we do something to find a mid-20s-ish big of real (e.g. starting quality) value? It's our biggest issue.

Idk..Jakucionis scares me a bit. For a PG, his handle is pretty weak..turns the ball over a ton. Streaky shooter, bad defender, subpar athleticism.

He's worth a 1st round pick somewhere in the 15-30 range but I wouldn't reach too high for him..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Don’t worry we have enough cap to resign Luke and a 40 year old Al Horford to play the 5 all season.

Sorry, I really **** hate this trade.

I would pull the trigger on a trade centered around #2 and Castle.

I hate this KP trade. Losing what may be 32 and getting some scrub just to dump some salary.. I can't believe there was nothing better.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Bobby Krivitsky‬:

The Celtics are now under the second apron. That doesn't account for this year's draft picks and filling out their roster, though.

Moving Porzingis lends itself to keeping Anfernee Simons.

Also, just because the Celtics traded Porzingis, do not rule out them having an interest in re-signing him next offseason. It's possible he returns.

Eric Koreen‬:

Well, anybody who didn't understand how punitive the second apron was should understand it after the last 24 hours of Celtics moves.

Me:

With the Celtics under the second apron, the Celtics can now aggregate salaries in trades again. For example, Xavier Tillman could now be paired with someone else going outbound in a deal. Many new possibilities have opened.

The Holiday trade is not official yet. It can now theoretically be expanded in new ways from the Boston end.
