It clearly was. Apron concerns, now behind us.

Well idk what they will do now. I wonder if they’re trying to move up in this draft. Idk.

What I don't understand is there was rumors of so many teams wanting k. P.. Do you mean to tell me? We couldn't get a better offer than what we got?? I know some of it is just rumors, but really??

You’re under the second apron and chance Tatum comes back in March. What are you talking about?

There it is. Misplaced optimism.

Even if Tatum came back next march and was a better version of the player who got hurt, this team ain't going to the finals.

You see the roster they have?

Yeah if healthy with Tatum, it’s almost the same one that went to the ECF before minus Marcus. Unless you still think Marcus is a star (he’s not) what’s your point?

This is ridiculous. It's not the same roster. It's 4 years older.

They're not going to the finals next year and frankly I think they could be competing for the play in.

I figured Brad would do his heavy lifting early, before too many pieces were removed from the board. Moving White or JB will not be shocking at this point to me.

I expect we would have had to take back more salary for a better asset return. And we want that salary room.

Stay tuned...

Why was it horrible? His performance vs the Magic and Knicks was beyond horrible.

Yes, of course it was a salary dump. That was the plan this off season, to get under the 2nd apron. Jrue and KP were the likely guys to be traded for lesser value, to get under that 2nd apron.

This team needs to get under the luxury tax at this point.

There's zero reason to stay over it.

The Porzingis trade makes perfect sense to me. The Holiday trade does not.

No, they like Niang.

Agreed. I expect the next moves we'll see is trading White and Brown and extending Niang to build around him.

I suppose none of us should be judging until Brad finalizes this offSeason.. we have to wait for other moves to come about.

If I was Dallas I'd be trying to get DW for Lively + stuff.

The Bulpett tweet on Jakucionis means what? If true, why not interview him at the combine instead of Tre?

To me, it screams, planted excuses in two days. We looked at every option, but we like our guys.

Sometimes I irrationally dislike athletes. Niang is one of those athletes, I hope he gets dealt.

Why not. Jrue's game took a dive all last season. He wasn't half the player he was in 2024. His numbers were down across the board. He is 35 and had 3 more years of getting paid over $30 million. He was a salary dumb like the KP salary dump trade. But in return, we get a 20 point scorer. Simons can be resigned after this season or traded for future assets.

They did pretty good given the goal. It's really hard to clear that much salary. I've been the champion of good players matter more than bad contracts on the T&T board, but there are limits. Clearing $22M in salary with just swapping 2ndsk for an expiring guy who rarely plays is pretty impressive.
