Frankly, I don't think he cares all that much about basketball. I don't have any evidence, it's just a vibe I get. I doubt being shipped to ATL is going to rekindle his passion for the game.

I wouldn’t like giving up 22 for Mr. Unreliable if I were a Hawks fan.

Mann’s contract isn’t good, but I don’t think it’s thaaat bad given salaries have been and will continue to explode.

Plus if one is taking the Mann contract angle, giving up 22 means you are getting rid what’s traditionally one of the potential most value-based contracts in the league if you hit on your pick.

Just the kind of move that a team that chooses to be stuck in the middle makes.

I know you are using dynasty ironically, but he wasn't even part of their non dynasty either - he barely played in the playoffs due to injury and whatever minutes in the finals he played made barely any effect on the outcome of that series. He's about as instrumental to the celtics "dynasty" as Devan George was to the Lakers in the Kobe-Shaq threepeat. A small, contributory roleplayer who probably doesn't effect the outcome.

Boston with the 1-year dynasty, back to a rebuild around JT & JB. Basically Niang and a 2nd rounder for Zinger and a 2nd rounder?

What are the odds of the #22 pick being a better player than Porzingis?

His whole family is all about basketball, I think. His skill set also shows he loves basketball. The reason why he sucks is because his legs does not work. He will have a great season next season because he is playing for his potential last big contract.

There has to be something good about Niang that I can cheer myself up by thinking about but I don't know what it is.

Yes. I'm sure ownership has layed out the parameters (dump money now), and Stevens is handling the specifics (how to be good in '26-'27 and beyond).

Just checked. Yes.

Time to give Jaylen Brown a paid working vacation. All he has to do is shooting and dribbling skill work, and otherwise Boston sends him to relax and see the world.

It has more than double odds selecting player like Jokic (41)

If he faces/matches up against Jingles, not only would it provide you with comedic relief, but it would give hope to all out of shape realgmers with beer bellies and dad bods that there is still a chance to live your dreams

Ainge is smart and famously unsentimental so I imagine his first priority would have been dumping Jaylen Nrown, but he’s also doing both these deals in a heartbeat.
