That's part of the flexibility it gives Brad and the team. I mentioned that a few pages back.

There it is. Misplaced optimism.
Even if Tatum came back next march and was a better version of the player who got hurt, this team ain't going to the finals.
You see the roster they have?
Yeah if healthy with Tatum, it’s almost the same one that went to the ECF before minus Marcus. Unless you still think Marcus is a star (he’s not) what’s your point?
This is ridiculous. It's not the same roster. It's 4 years older.
They're not going to the finals next year and frankly I think they could be competing for the play in.
Perhaps they play in. Take Jrue, KP and Tatum off Boston they are Brown and White right now. Even if brown goes all nba, they are a 40-win team. They need moves now that are cheaper but give value. I want this team 44 wins and sixth seed.

Yes. But you're giving up more players on your current roster too.
Soooo

Right they just aren’t players right now.
What does aggregating do currently it’s not that the roster sucks it’s that they only have a few good players.

I hope Neemias Queta is ready for 40 min per game. I hope lottery is good next year. 2025/6 is going to suck. When Tatum back and healthy we will be ready for 3 more years of luxury cap spending.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

We should call the 76ers and offer Niang to Philly for Gordon, Drummond and a 2nd round pick... They love Niang in Philly and they open a roster spot and save $200k... then stretch/waive Gordon and Drummond is a tank commander at center -> LOTTERY PICK here we come!

I keep wondering what the new owners think of all this. Are they panicking? Lol

Better off going 6 loses the other way and getting a top 10 pick.
Brown is absolutely getting hurt this year. Count on it.

it's way more likely ownership said reduce the tax burden and that's whats happening because the talent return is poor and you'd have to pay simons.

Again, you gotta give up something to get something.
You're not adding anyone in free agency who's changing the fortune of this team.
So who they trading? PP? Hauser? White?
That's about all you have left of value.
Yes, because the league knows that JB is overrated and overpaid.
I don't know what the inference here is but the Celtics aren't trading Brown.
If you're trading Brown, you trade him first. Not last.
Unless you need to trade him along another asset. You couldn't before but you can now.

Yup
I’m surprised we couldn’t do better for Porzingis. But that’s a huge difference in salary with Niang. Can’t blame them for wanting to get under the 2nd apron.

SparringPartner wrote:The Bulpett tweet on Jakucionis means what? If true, why not interview him at the combine instead of Tre?
To me, it screams, planted excuses in two days. We looked at every option, but we like our guys.
I mean, we may have brought Jakucionis into our facility to work him out. And when you do that, you interview them while they're here.
That shows more interest than just interviewing them at the combine.
While Jakucionis isn't on the list made public of guys we've had in for workouts, that list is only like 25 guys but Washburn said we have actually worked out over 50 guys which means there's like 25+ guys we've worked out but kept it under wraps..
Another report said we have been evaluating PG prospects in this draft but have been secretive about those evaluations..
