Nepo babies can be great and successful. Who you know can take you a long way. That doesn't mean they are beyond criticism or scrutiny.
You are the one who brought up Nick being a nepo baby being an issue.....I couldn't care less who someone's dad is.
Spoelstra only got his foot in the door in the NBA because his dad was the GM of the Trailblazers back in the day. Doesn't mean Spo isn't an all-time great coach.
I called him a nepo baby. I didn't characterize the fact that he was a nepo baby as an explicit issue. I called attention to Nick Arison as someone who is literally in charge of all basketball ops but escapes scrutiny on here. Sorry if you're a big fan of his and took that personally, but I think it's worth consideration.
Talking about Spo having a father that was part of an entirely separate organization which surely helped him get an entry level position in the NBA is a weird detour in attempting to turn my post into some sort of study on nepo babies being inherently unqualified as a whole. What the hell is going on here?
The fact that we turn on our own so quickly that leads to ridiculous nepotism dialogue let’s you understand the fan base we have.
We’ve enjoyed an immense amount of success in the last 2 decades, even in non contending championship seasons. We struggle few seasons and we curse the same people directly responsible for all the success we’ve had that we’ve all enjoyed.
Struggle & adversity is part of the process. This ain’t the big 3 circus era anymore. No microwave rings. It’s tougher now to not only build contending teams but to build something that will stay competitive long term like Heat prefers to do. I trust little in the league to strategise, manage & make necessary decisions to get it done. & our FO is one of the vry small handful.
You spoilt, arm chair GM’s woulda run this damn organisation to the ground yrs ago w/ asinine trades & decisions. Slow your role & let professionals handle the everyday decisions to run a million dollar organisation.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade
