They need to trade Jaylen Brown now while he still has value. Dude is about to be exposed on a bad Celtics team.

Just checked. Yes.

Time to give Jaylen Brown a paid working vacation. All he has to do is shooting and dribbling skill work, and otherwise Boston sends him to relax and see the world.

Conduct detrimental to the team. Year long suspension, but with pay because it wasn’t that detrimental.

Oh, that's good. Just need a deepfake of him kneecapping JT in his hospital bed. Case closed!

I'm not ruling out them moving Brown yet...

I have a weird gut feeling that he’s dealt to SA on draft night for Vassell/Barnes/#2

I love teams that have an actual plan and aren't afraid to execute it .. and no I'm not talking about Suns or Blazers lol

good on Celtics, they're making moves to shape their future instead of taking a passive stance.

Ainge would have held onto Porzingis waiting out the Bucks on a Giannis trade. And he would have wanted at least one frp back too.

He would have been waiting a very long time Giannis ain’t going anywhere and sure the hell not for porzingis.

Meh. The KP move was expected. Celtics are just lucky to find a team as dumb as the Blazers to take on Holiday’s contract.

I posted months ago that amongst all of the bad things of this CBA, the worst is the affect of injury. I said, God forbid Shai or some superstar gets injured ot changes everything. The KP illness and subsequent Tatum injury were devastating but mean nothing to slowing down this relentless CBA. The injuries to Irving, Haliburton and Lillard can happen to anybody. Just the worst thing of many.

There’s problems with the new CBA, but it’s not that teams aren’t allowed to stockpile so much talent that they can lose multiple top guys and not be affected. That’s a good thing! Why should the Celtics have 9 guys that would start for Denver just so they don’t miss a beat if some of their guys get hurt? Spread the talent around a little.

The real problem is that the actual cap is so low relative to what the top teams are paying to compete that it makes player movement almost impossible during the season. Leave the aprons, the tax, and the floor in place where are now, and just add 5-10% to the cap number each year so that you’re not required to spend 90% of the cap by the start of preseason and teams are allowed to retain some space to make moves over the course of the season.

They're definitely decisive and that grouping wasn't the future for them obviously.

Since they have their 2026 / 27 picks, this makes sense. Knowing the Celtics, those picks will be decent.

tbh without even analyzing the moves in depth two trades in two days is pretty good business to send some signals to other teams, to your fans, to your players.

They can draft a center or power forward tomorrow and spend next season developing him.

I don't think they'll be a terrible team, even after the trades, but they won't be contenders.

Good move by the Nets using their cap space to get another pick. Now they have 5 tomorrow...crazy!

The CBA is pure garbage, being forced to break up teams every two to three years is terrible. It's what sucks about parity leagues like MLS

Brooklyn seems to just give away its cap space? Mann is horrible and that pick is low. You already have like 5 picks. What are you doing Brooklyn?

I mean to be fair, if they’re desperate for scoring and creation, he actually might be a positive for the Celtics for the first time since IDK…. 2022? He gets exposed a lot more on good teams where every other option is better offensively.

With that said, he’s not remotely worth his contract and if the Celtics can find suckers who will give up draft equity for Porzingis and Jrue, surely they can find one for Jaylen as well. I think it’s time to try to get all the way under the tax and see what kind of win-soon return you can get for JB that will get you back in championship contention for the 2027 season.

Your friendly reminder that winning one championship let alone multiple is super difficult. I still get a good chuckle at all the people that thought the Celtics or Nuggets would be the next dynasty.
