Celtics like to jack 3s so enjoy Simons and Niang shooting the lights out. Although defense will be optional next year lol

I guess it makes sense for the Celtics to throw in the towel for a year with Tatum recovering. Then reload next offseason when healthy

Yes, it’s so terrible that the Celtics in a year where they won’t be competitive due to injury are encouraged to trade away a declining 35 year and a guy who’s never had a good healthy playoffs in his 10 year career making a combined $70MM/year. Better they should be able to sit on those guys indefinitely through their last productive seasons waiting for Tatum to come back? Come on.

It’s not like Jrue or KP were homegrown players. Both were luxury veteran trades by a team trying to go all-in scooping up as much talent as possible. Now if OKC’s forced to breakup due to the CBA, then you’ll have something to complain about. I think it’s more likely though that people are gonna be complaining about why the CBA’s not making them break up more as they win 4 straight championships.

Seriously, the hand wringing is ridiculous. “Oh no! Tatum got injured and the Celtics chose to trade away a declining 35 year old and a guy who’s never healthy on bad contracts! The league is ruined! Honestly if the Celtics manage to move Jaylen Brown too, I think they’re the favorites to come out of the East in 2027.

Salary dump but Stevens is a genius and is there with Presti. Things can change in a heart beat. I would always bet on elite GMs putting a game plan together and not worrying about the immediate future

Tanking worked for Okc/seattle twice (2007-2009) and 2020-2022 (well they actual tried to tank 2019-2020 also but Chris Paul played too well so they had to get rid of Chris Paul.. But that’s also with good management

Celtics have good management. Should be able to land a top 3-4 pick in 2026. Takes Tatum 24 months to fully recover. Brown will coast next season. Take 30 games off as well.

Calm your tits. I never said anything about Derrick White. I was just saying maybe see if there’s a sucker who wants to take on the declining player who was the worst offensive guy in your rotation the last couple seasons for $60MM/year.

First off, under the new CBA, even having the worst record in the entire league only gives you about a 50/50 chance at a top 4 pick. Secondly, IDK if you’re even gonna be able to miss the playoffs in the East with White and Pritchard. The conference is just too weak.
