So basically saves the Mavs ~6.2 Million in 2025-2026 and guarantees his 2027 and 2028 salaries. Seems good for both sides?

Seems ideal for Dallas. Right money. Right length. Really good result when they couldn't afford to lose him. He didn't try and get somewhere else.

Dallas takes on a lot more risk if he doesnt return to form, but worthwhile risk to take

I was thinking he’d pick up his option and extend for another 2/$80-85M, so I see this as a win for Dallas.

Stein thinks this opens up the TMLE for Dallas. I haven't checked the numbers but that's big if true. Should be able to get a vet PG for that so if the trade market doesn't pan out they can at least do better than Dinwidde take 3.

Don't really like the player option. So it's only 1 more year if he's in good health and form but 2 if he isn't. Otherwise it makes sense. They need him for the short term and even if things go bad it won't be an issue for a Flagg timeline.

Player Option just seems standard. If he's still good then he gets to opt out and turn one year into 2. If he's not then yeah Dallas is stuck with a big contract, but I always expect the star to get the option.

Kyrie lost a lot of money because of the ACL, that's a lowball offer, he was underpaid on his previous deal.
So Kyries deal in DAL after the trade is 195/5...

Like the deal for both. An element of risk for Dallas sure but Kyrie has been playing the best ball of his career there.
