This board better not crash tomorrow. Like it always does.
I was even thinking of having a group call/livestream tomorrow night if only by myself

Why would we want to oubid them?

If they must must must must have Ace, trade our #6 & #18 to them for all 4 of their R1 picks (8, 19, 26 & 27).

And #25. They just got that one in the Porzingis deal that helped the Celts dodge the 2nd apron penalties.

The Nets are loading up for something. There’s going to be some crossfire of trades in the 2-5 zone.

I swear it’s not for Ace or Fears but Maluach. And possibly Harper. Like the Spurs want Khaman plus assets. The Jazz want a 3for1 deal. The Nets are trying to hop past us. And we are trying to get enough assets for Harper or may take Maluach ourselves to sell to the Spurs or keep.

Looks to me like there’s heavy shenanigans in play.

No kidding! I'm afraid to hit the hay tonight -- who knows what I'll miss!

It never fails. I'm always traveling on Draft Day. Hopefully, the WiFi will work on the airplane.

Funny to think Ace and Queen are both suites in cards....

I was traveling from Denver to Albany on draft night 2018. Layover in Wash (can’t remember if BWI or IAD), anyways, I spotted Mark Turgeon was waiting at the gate. The flight was delayed and I eventually got near him and sheepishly said hello and congrats that Heurter was about to get picked. Turg wasn’t an outright jerk, but he was far from warm, so I said congrats and walked away.

I'm working on my Big Board and after a lot of thought and consideration I'm putting Maluach at #2. The strides he's taken in such a short amount of time playing organized ball combined with size and length you can't teach suggests he has considerable upside. At minimum he's a PnR rim-running, shot-blocking deterrent and that is always going to be useful. But imho by 2030 he has a very good chance of being a top 3-5 center in the league and well worth taking high in the first. I'm getting Embiid vibes tbh. I know this sounds hyperbolic but in a fairly average draft class with a weaker center group taking him 6 makes sense. If he falls to you I think this is a Dawkins type guy and you'll pick him. He'd allow Sarr to stay at his preferred 4 where he enjoys a size advantage, similar to Mobley in Cleveland with Allen. I'm convinced all the Bailey and Fears talk is a smokescreen to ensure Maluach falls. You can take the 3 and D glue guy at 18 since there should be a few still on the board.

I’m going to love this draft if we get:
@6 Ace
@18 Sorber/Beringer

Or happy to get:
@6 Maluach
@18 Essengue/Fleming

Heck I would be content to get:
@6 Tre/Fears
@18 Newell/Wolf

I think I have a good chance of enjoying this draft.

Bearly Ballin you have a great attitude. I am going into tonight hopeful and confident in our FO. If they choose Maluach, who I have the least confidence in among the players mocked near us, I’ll give a nod to his supporters and start rooting for the kid and hoping I was wrong. Let’s go Wizards!
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

If Bailey is there at 6, and Dawkins & Co. draft him, I am fine with it.

I like the vets the Wiz have brought in, and I think they'd help immensely with his transition to the NBA.

Seems to me that the Nets must be focused on getting Ace. If only the Pels didn't pick between us, we could use that to score Maluach plus one of their other R1 picks....
