If Niang ever played, let alone started for this team, I think I would lose my mind.

They have to be moving one or two more guys now that salaries can be aggregated or else there wouldn’t have been any need to move quickly
I don't understand anything about these things but I assume they needed to finish the NBA financial year (or whatever it's called) under the 2nd apron. I think the cut-off date is around the corner, which would explain the rush. Plus the draft, plus creating space to sign players on July 1st, plus now being able to aggregate outgoing players when the trade show starts. (Probably half of what I just said isn't accurate.)

According to reports earlier, Kornet is not about the money.
He loves it in Boston, so I think he stays for a reasonable contract.
If the reports are coming from Kornet or his agent, then maybe.
If Boston offers Kornet 2 years/$11 million and another team offers him 3 years/$34 million, we will see what Luke chooses.

Why wait then??
JT’s injury is the perfect excuse.
I’ll even write his press conference spiel for him
Brad: “We’ve got a ton of respect for those guys. They meant a lot to this team and this city. But at the end of the day, we’re in this to raise banners, and we felt like we needed to make tough decisions to keep moving in that direction.
We’ve got some really talented young players who are just scratching the surface. We believe in their potential and in the group we’re building around them.
We talked to Jayson throughout the process. Of course, it’s tough to see teammates go—these guys form bonds over years—but Jayson’s locked in. He knows what we’re trying to build and he’s excited about it.
Right now, the focus for him is just getting healthy. We’re going to need him at full strength, and he knows that. We all do.”
Shak_Celts wrote:Bad-Thoma wrote:Shak_Celts wrote:They may, I hope we don’t. He is fine as 6th man.
I think starting him, barring changes to the roster, is a great idea. He's on a great contract and if he can put up numbers he becomes a really nice trade asset if moves need to be made. I don't think the team will be as bad as some people seem to think but if they are and Payton doesn't do that great it's not like keeping him on that deal is a poor value either, he's underpaid and locked up until 27-28. He really played some solid defense as last season when on, I think it's time to let him loose.
I hear you, but I think he’s better as our heater against other benches. He’ll get plenty of minutes either way, so I’m not pressed, but I just hope we keep him as the only offense we got from our bench last season.
If people think we lost talent from the starters, then we’ll open up a bigger hole on the bench where most of the time all we had was Pritch last season. He’s already proven he can get his from the bench, no adjustment there. I don’t want to put someone less qualified when we’re already starving.

Guess that just means your standards are too high.
There are 10 NBA teams without a single championship.
The Clippers have made the WCF only once since the 70s.
Getting to the ECF and Finals, twice, is nothing to sneeze at.
Just ask the Blazers of 1990 and 1992.

No it isnt. That is not a champ level trio in this league...especially with Joe coaching.
A number of teams has a superior core
2025 - $135.1M
2026 - $145.7M
2027 - $152.2M
They needed a bunch of assistance to win one chip and fumble HC every other year. We’re ****ed
We have a million 2nd rounders. Maybe the next Joker is out there.

If you're going to move JB or DW you optimize for best possible deal. That might not be now. That might be July. Or August. Or October.

Have no teams, that don’t involve LBJ and Curry, that have multiple chips in decades. If curry and LBJ weren’t winning, it was up for grabs by anybody the last few decades! Am I missing a team that doesn’t include those players that have multiple rings, in a long time? When was the last time the spurs won?
If you let this board tell it, winning is easy.

Then you add the paint. You paint one coat in some places, and more in others. Whatever it needs. You clean everything up and, "Hey, the house looks great."
The Celtics just got done scraping.

Great analogy. This house has good bones, it’s solidly built. Just needs some paint and tasteful landscaping.
GrandTheftRondo wrote:Shak_Celts wrote:It’s like we were playing without Porzi anyway, we were winning without him every single time.
Depends on what Simons can bring, we’re currently only down Jrue (the idea of him from the cup run).
Al and Korny will be known later, so can’t really say.
We really aren’t much different than last season before injury. Yes, we’re down Tatum, this same team was good without him (won without Jrue too IIRC). Just stay good until he comes back a month or so before the playoffs.
I never said we’ll win or get to the chip, I’m just not counting us out and thinking will be trash. We haven’t done much of anything that tells me we are much worse. Much worse than the chip team? ABSOLUTELY, but that was what we were last season anyway.
I know what some of you are saying, I heard you, I’m just not listening right now.
I really want to know what has changed from last season, so far? What have we lost?
I would rather us be trash than roll around with this mid as **** roster for years to come.
Who gives a **** about winning games next year
