I'd be happy w/ Mike Brown. He's got experience, he's grown/adapted w/ each stop (unlike Thibs) and sometimes it takes coaches a few stops before they win it all. I like what he did in Sacramento, and he'd have more talent here to work w/
wonder if they could get James Borrego as his lead assistant, a CAA client

I deserve Nori and im going to be yellow jacket pissed when we hire Brown instead.
You should read that article about him I posted earlier. He seems like a really good guy and he paid his dues as an assistant for over 15 years. It is too bad we're gonna choose Mike Brown over him

It's funny cause literally right after I read that article, I saw the tweet about how Mike Brown is the leader to win the job. Talk about a dagger in the heart lol

Wish I hadn't read it cause all it is going to do is make it worse when we sign Brown.

My hunch in all of this is that the knicks feel slighted that bryant left and went to cleveland (not even for a position upgrade but exactly the same job)
knicks arent exactly above being petty - could also be another factor why they didnt go with the interest in KD

could be. on the other hand, they got close look at Bryant for 4 years, maybe knowing him, they felt he wasn't ready/right for the job

I am going to interpret it another way and Nori got a look because Brown and Jenkins didn’t close the deal. Nori legit seems like Ime and Kidd where they looked good but the team went with Thibs as the safe bet. Then a few years later we look back and both of them was as good a choice as Thibs if not better and the Knicks want them

Reading into Brown. He was loved in SAC for a couple of minutes but, seems like he lost the locker room by year three . The team went on a run after he left. He turned them around and did good things there. Then it fell apart, I didn't find the cause but, I think there was some friction with Fox at some point. Not sure.
Not really into him as HC now. Jenkins doesn't wow me either. Nori is a risk. Ugh.

this can be the kind of word that we may be seeing from the media when the ink has dried after the search. Only the organization knew by themselves the real reasons why he was not offered an interview (which is perplexing) and it could be a damning optic

Any first time coach is going to be a risk, but with that risk, there is a chance of actually finding a really good coach.
The thing for me about Nori is he really seems laid back and personable - and that will kinda be the opposite of what Thibs was (at least what we saw of him) where he was over-serious and honestly, kinda gaslighting with his excuses about minutes and being worried about leads evaporating with under 2 minutes where the other team has already marched their bench out onto the court.
And, I think our guys are very serious, but also a fun bunch. They don’t need a task master, they need a collaborator and tactician and guy to help strategize when opposing teams take away the PNR between KAT & JB and we have 5+ months where the starters are a net minus on court production.

Re: Official Knicks Coaching Search Thread pt. 2 (update: poll added 6/18/25)
The ongoing silence from Kidd's camp is the most interesting part of this whole coaching search equation.
In fact the only comments communicated was there in fact is 'mutual interest' and 'his ears would perk up' if Knicks showed interest in him about the job. The Mavs rejected the Knicks and we would expect that. However, at this point, only Kidd can completely end the speculation and he hasn’t after all this time. Is he quietly negotiating his extension with the Mavs or is it something else? You’d think it would help the Mavs a great deal during this roster building phase to hear from their current head coach that he intends to remain with the team in light of this well publicized and continued interest from the Knicks.
Lastly, He has done nothing to squash, deny or reverse those 'interested' comments since.

Surely they need to hire someone before summer league right? Who is going to develop all the kids into the rotation

You think it's possible that the Mavs are messing with the Knicks by vaguely leaving things without a confirmation on Kidd. Like he's staying but the longer it looks like a possibility for the Knicks to get him it's delays them hiring someone so it drags further into the summer season activities.

Unfortunately I don't think the Knicks care about developing anyone.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

The uncertainty pushing through time kind of makes the Kidd and Giannis dream feel more real.

I don’t know it’s not a top priority but they need some of the kids on the roster to develop.
