Re: 2025 Offseason Season Thread Vol. 3
I'm all for DeRozan, especially if all it costs is something like Robinson/Rozier and a pick swap or a couple of 2nds or something to that effect. And I expect that'll be roughly the cost given the McCollum/Poole trade.

Re: 2025 Offseason Season Thread Vol. 3
Let’s say you can do Rozier and a 2nd for DeRozan… or even if you have to add Jaime … frees up salary and a roster spot which we need…. Then draft best player available…. WCJ fingers crossed.
Ware Love
Bam Jovic
Wiggins Highsmith
DeRozan (WCJ?) Smith Burks
Herro Mitchell
How do you feel about this team going into the season knowing you’d go into 2026 with space for max player to add to Bam, Herro, Ware, Mitchell if you trade away Wiggins and Demar’a expirings (shouldn’t be a problem)
We can decide to trade Herro as well as Wiggins, DeRozan’s expirings if things don’t work…
We’d have more picks if I’m not mistaken ….
That’s 3 easily, movable contracts, picks and cap space for 2026.

Why would Miami do that? Adding DeRozan to Bam, Herro, Ware and Wiggins would be more appealing.
If Bam continues shooting from 3 as he closed the year (above average on multiple attempts) and Ware continues to develop his. It would give DeRozan and Herro room to get to the rim. Plus it would give the team 4 above average scorers in the starting line up with a 7 foot swatter in the middle.
If anything you can use Wiggins for a better trade fit/target.
A core of
Ware
Bam
Wiggins
Derozen
Herro
Mitchell
Jovic
Highsmith
Burks
Dru Smith
Love
20th pick.
Wouldn’t be that bad going into the east next year.
You’d still have Duncan, Wiggins, and 2 1st rounders as bait if you’re able to get a quality player before Duncan’s contract decision….

As much as I dislike Wiggins' game, I don't think Miami can afford to swap a 2-way player for a 1-way player. It has to be Rozier or Robinson.
If f'n Wiggins and Rozier are still on the roster after Draft night and Robinson is still on the roster after July 8th, I am going to puke.

DeRozan talk is making my brain about to explode. If it’s for Rozier and some type of swap fine i can live with that. We can find a much better deal with Wiggins on one of the LA teams.

My big thing is I don't know which other impact players the Heat might be targeting. Of the players we know/assume are being shopped, DeRozan is amongst the best and most impactful. Maybe Cam Johnson is a better get, but he seems to be on many teams' radar and I imagine the Heat wouldn't want to get into a bidding war for him.
Knecht is a fine, if underwhelming prospect. The only other guys I like on the LA rosters are Reaves and Powell (I assume Batum won't be traded).
It just seems like Miami is kind of content to be a treadmill team while they get their finances in order for 2026.

Re: 2025 Offseason Season Thread Vol. 3
Lets focus on doing what is realistic
Trade Wiggins for expiring and pick
Move Andersen for expiring
Offer Davion his QO
No extensions offered to anyone
Dangle expirings of Love, Highsmith, Rozier and Robinson (about 56 million in total) for first round picks, if not begin contract buyout talks
No extensions to anyone - repeating myself a million times
Summer league JJJ Ware Jovic Larrson and our new first round pick.
And again, dont offer extensions to anyone.
I have no reason to believe we will do anything major this offseason. Though i do hope we can try to get some firsts to use on a future trade.. and i know teams like phoenix need cap relief

Anderson is expiring as his deal is non guaranteed. Wiggins for expiring and pick looks like the way too go and i think the Lakers or Clippers will do that. Bogdonovic, DJJ, and pick for Wiggins is not so bad either.

Bill Simmons also said KD to Spurs was done. So take whatever he says with a grain of salt.
Let's just see how the offseason plays out.

Stop digging the hole any deeper, DeRozan ain't saving us....we're way beyond that.
Stop acting like delusional children looking for (false) immediate gratification and plan for the long term for once FFS

What do you mean “stop acting like delusional children”? They have been quite conservative for a while. They made the Terry trade as one last attempt to upgrade for the Jimmy team, it didn’t work out and basically cooked the build and ended the era.
They seemingly knew they needed to maintain optionality because they didn’t want to extend Jimmy. He acted unprofessional but they should’ve probably known he would.
Their inquiries about Durant don’t sound petulant at all. If anything they acknowledge they can’t really afford to hamstring themselves for a team that won’t win.
Like people have the right to be concerned if we get long term salary but as far as I’m concerned the next 12 months is a free hit.
Try and be good next year with Tyler, Bam and the young guys. But if it’s not good you’ll have a high pick next year and likely max cap space in 2026 where I reckon JJJ could become a UFA because Memphis isn’t offering much. Not to mention Luka. Those are unlikely but optionality will be key.
Everyone just needs to be patient and calm down. I actually feel like the FO will navigate these waters fine

I would’ve done it for either, I’ve always been a team player

Re: 2025 Offseason Season Thread Vol. 3
I don’t think it’s unfair criticism of Herro to not want to pay the dude $50M a year when he only plays one side of the ball and doesn’t show up in the playoffs, that’s very valid and true criticism. I don’t think it’s unfair to want to trade him when guys just like him in Poole, Simons, Green, Bane etc. are being passed around and Cam Thomas is about to sign for a much cheaper amount at $25M a year. He’s not much better or worse than any of those guys in either direction and with him coming off an all star appearance it could be our best chance to get value for him. He’s done nothing in a Heat jersey to warrant $50M a year and I promise you in trade discussions nobody gives a fuxk about his 3 point title lol just like nobody will care about Bams skills competition title when we hopefully start discussing trades for him as well.
Also I gotta say there’s A LOT of irony on here about “attacking your own” now that the golden child is getting some criticism thrown his way and lil buddy is one of the main ones talking **** about some of our guys over the course of the season

Which untouchable do you not want to trade for an all nba player and finals mvp entering his prime, who has been stuck behind Tatum?
Yall said i was crazy for herro #20 and robinson for durant. That was an overpay right? Yea then Houston eclipsed me times a million.
Now my new offer is an overpay too. Okay, wait and see what the next star gets traded for
What did lesser player Desmond Bane get traded for again? KCP, Cole Anthony, 4 unprotected firsts and a swap?
Hmm okay.

Re: 2025 Offseason Season Thread Vol. 3
Friendly reminder that Bam was a multiple time all star, multiple time gold medalist, several all defensive teams, several top 5 DPOY finishes, a threat for 20-10-5 every night, and a major catalyst to almost 3 finals trips prior to Ware ever getting here. Ware helps take some of the million responsibilities Bam has to cover up for due to bad roster construction and players for sure but Bam being good isn’t reliant on having Ware.
Y’all have a good day, let’s have a fun one with hopefully alot of activity. Maybe we’ll even throw our hat in today and get something done

Hmm okay.lets just lowball everybody. That has worked great for us. It has netted us only one deal in 4 years, Kyle Lowry who Toronto did not want anymore anyways. Wheres our next kyle lowry.. maybe we can trade kyle andersen and kevin love for a point guard

If we’re sending Herro for Brown straight up they need to send us 5 1sts or Tatum as well
