I am hopeful about the Wizards pick. They will be less likely to be awful next year. They have every incentive to play these veterans to ship them out for better players. They might end up being significantly better than bottom feeding teams next season.

The funniest thing to me right now is there is a legit chance the Knicks won’t draft anyone in either round of the draft and that is why they keep saying “we don’t need to hire a HC before the draft”.

If they can get a future second rounder for pick 50 they absolutely should. Next year’s draft is supposed to be deeper anyway.

Knicks could be trying to maximize Josh's value and trade him for two quality role players, or for a player who is not afraid to shoot the ball.

Here are different packages that work. I AM NOT SAYING ANY OF THEM ARE GOOD. Just saying that they worked on the spotrac trade machine and I tried to pick ones that might make sense, even ones we would not like.

Chicago
Lonzo Ball and Jalen Smith

Memphis
Brandon Clarke and John Konchar (maybe Jay Huff as well if the Knicks add one more player)

Utah
Collin Sexton or Jordan Clarkson

Dallas
PJ Washington or Caleb Martin and Naji Marshall

6’1? Can we stop trying to hit on these tiny guards and start scouting guys with size, length, and versatility

We have Brunson and kolek who are both undersized defensive liabilities as it is

If Hart is going to be sent to Dallas, then it might have something to do with Jason kidd.

I mean not the best source so doubtful but.....

Hart is 19.4M

Chicago= Coby white or Lonzo? Or Huerter, or Pat Williams? All in that range of salary.
Utah= Sexton? Or Kessler too in an extended package like Hart/McBride/Kolek and picks?
Memphis=Clarke, Jake Konchar while getting a 1st round pick back?

The teams mentioned make sense.

I don't think Chicago would trade Coby White. I think they want Giddey and White to be the backcourt. Josh Hart would make sense as a starting SF.

With Utah, I'm unclear as to what they would want out of Josh Hart. Maybe it's the fact that he has 3 more years on his deal, whereas Sexton is expiring and they might not want to pay him. Same goes for Clarkson.

For whatever reason, Clarke hasn't played in the playoffs since 2022. Konchar has never been good in the playoffs. We would have to get a pick or a player of real value from Memphis. I don't know if Clarker and Konchar are any better than Achiuwa and Shamet.

Coby White would make the most sense for us. Lonzo #2. Doubt Kesssler is in play but he'd be #1 or #2.

I think Goga should be a trade candidate for us. As much as I love Mitch we cant go into the seaosn hoping he stays healthy at his salary. need to flip for a wing defensive guy to balance the team more

Oh no. Not again. I don't think I'm ready for another Summer of Goga.

They’ll be paying Giddey the $30 per year he wants, so they’ll have room for White too, if they want.

They have Vuc, Collins, White, Huerter, Ayo all coming up for FA next season if they don’t want to resign then all ($75 off the books).

Patrick Williams at 18 , Zo at 10 , Smith at 9, Matas at 4 are only ones who are signed for at least 2 more seasons.

They might want some guys on low priced, locked in contracts. For us, that same idea of price controlled contract is why keeping Hart makes sense. Fit wise, if he’s used differently than Thibbs era, he could be more useful/per limited minutes.

Lonzo and PDX lottery protected 1st next season for Hart gets us $1M below the 1st apron.

Fit with Ball is better here than Hart, but I can’t say I’m sold on his health either.

Thing is if we deal Hart, where are the rebounds going to come from? KAT? that will be like the Enes Kanter 2 Defense. No title coming from that.
