Well, they just took on a huge contract at his position. Not something you do if you're committed to a player.

Maybe, but Okongwu is young and on a great contract plus they just cleared Mann's salary off their books. I think they keep him and can play both Bigs together at times.

However, Okongwu is the type of young player the Bucks should try to trade for if he was available. If he is not available, they have a TPE that would fit Kuzma's salary if the Bucks go after Barrett. I believe the Hawks showed interest in Kuzma over the last few years. That's probably a team he could excell with as a back up for Jaylen Johnson.

that, and people are forgetting the biggest factor: KP is far from a guarantee to stay healthy. if they wanted to really roll the dice and trade Okongwu and consolidate talent to get the best 8 man rotation possible, fine, but that's a huge gamble.

That is a lot of gross money to take on, but I'll play along.

I really don’t like RJ and think he’s an awful fit next to Giannis, but if it’s Kuz for RJ, I’d probably do it. RJ has worked up to close to league average 3P% and he’s had a season above league average efg%. Would have done the same last season if not for a career low free throw %. Only 25 so much better chance he takes a small jump playing next to Giannis than Kuz does.

Plus, he becomes your SF, you can let GTJ walk, start AJG at SG, and use whatever amount from the MLE to keep KPJ. You’d still have the rest of the MLE and the BAE to grab a couple other guys to help the bench.
KPJ/Rollins
AJG/Kennard?
RJ/AJJ
Giannis/Smith
Portis/Sims

Definitely need to grab another forward since Doc won’t trust AJJ and Smith might not be a rotation guy.

The only reason why I like him next to Giannis is because he can actually handle the basketball in PnRs unlike Kuzma. Plus, like you said he is still young and has potential. I think he has a chance to elevate his game similar to how Wiggins did when he first got to Golden State.

Also, I’d still like GTJ back if KPJ will sign for the B.A.E. If it's one or the other I would keep KPJ and go after Amir Coffey as a discounted shooter. Garrison Matthews as a minimum guy would also be an option. Not the best but he's a shooter.

Tank commander Kuz and former Blazer Pat for Jrue and one of our swaps back

Or

Dame/Kuz/Pat for Jrue/Grant and some combo of positive assets in the form of Deni, their picks or our swaps returned

It does appear as though the Blazers are delusional and have playoff aspirations, though, rather than looking to improve their books.

I really don’t see Cam as worth #11 and a lightly protected first beyond that. I know some of the value would be to get off Kuzma, but that’s really steep.

Yeah, agreed. Just the first guy that came to mind that fit money wise. And them reportedly wanting two good 1sts.

Maybe instead re-route Grant and the picks for Markkanen?

Or just pick Carter Bryant at 11.

Yeah, it’s a tough salary to find players who are worth a bunch.

What do you think Trey Murphy’s value would be relative to that Bane package?

Make the ‘31 1st unprotected, use our 26 swap to get a later first this year. That’s then 3 1sts, and add in the ‘32 swap. :dontknow:

The team has had four straight losing seasons under Chauncey Billups. They/he need to figure out if that young core can at least put a 45-48 win season on the board.

Looks like we can scratch Schroder from the potential target list.

The Kings, league sources say, are already being described as a likely leading suitor for Detroit’s Dennis Schröder when free agency begins Monday at 6 PM ET. Schröder is expected to command a deal that could start at the full $14.1 million midlevel exception and the Kings — barring a trade that otherwise addresses their need for a playmaker — are expected to be a prime contender to try to sign the 31-year-old away from the Pistons.

Realistic trade with Blazers:
Pat for Timelord
Blazers save over four mill, Bucks get another center so it’s easier to part with Brook (hopefully via S&T).

Murphy is a good call. Dumars is one of the few GMs Horst might be capable of fleecing.

Yeah, I get it, they just aren't close. Jrue isn't changing that. But looks like they're going for the Herb Kohl 8 seed or the play-in, boy Herb would've loved that concept.

Pat/Kuz/47/2031 1st for Cam/19/36 ?
Kuz/2031 for Trey Murphy? (Can pre-split up the 1st into three firsts if Dumars needs to get three firsts for Murphy)
Really any trade that flips Kuz for an above average shooter unlocks a lot of stuff for the Bucks.
KPJ/Rollins
GTJ/AJG
Someone from trading Kuz/AJJ/Livingston
Giannis/Smith/min salary big
Bobby/Sims
Would seems to replicate what really worked at the end of last season. Point Giannis surrounded by shooters. Only non-shooters in that rotation are AJJ and Sims. Sims would play mainly when Giannis is off to protect the rim and be a lob threat.

What picks are included? The Lakers are desperate for a center, and have tried for Timelord repeatedly, but haven't been able to meet the price.

Their asking price for Murphy is a playoff caliber player, a young player, and 2- 1sts. The trick is figuring out which players Dumars likes.

Read on Twitter

According to one source close to the situation, Holiday is “pissed” he’s going to Portland.

“Now, if he winds up staying there, I’m sure he’ll be the professional he’s always been and make a positive contribution,” said the source. “But he’s not happy with this deal. I’ll be surprised if Portland doesn’t move him on if they can, because right now he does not want to go there.

“I’m sure if he has to go to Portland, he’ll end up going and it’ll be OK, but right now they want to be somewhere else. But with that contract, it’s not going to be that easy.”

Damn.

Took a look at the top 100 nba players list of the Ringer as I was talking to a friend of mine about something and I noticed it had a sort by team feature. I know that the Ringer is not the best at compiling lists but still. Our only two players in the top 100 are Giannis (duh) at 3 and Lillard who's injured and thus anavailable for next season, at 43...

We do not have a single other player in the top 100...
It really drove home how down bad we are.

For comparison's sake, OKC has 6 players in the top 100 and Denver has 5.

On Bart Winkler’s pod they were breaking down how many current Bucks wouldve gotten regular minutes on Indy and OKC in the finals. The consensus was Giannis. That’s really sad and should drive home how bad we need a rebuild.

Conversely, you could make the case for several spot minutes guys on either side being a 20 minute+ guy for Milwaukee.
Do it for Chuck
