With the last minute Raptors workout of Essengue off the plane from the playoffs in Germany on his way to the draft... Yup incoming @9.

=Essengue.

I could also see them trading Barrett for Mavs veteran bench depth and #31.

But I think Tre and Knueppel go ahead of Ace Ventura.

I really like Queen, he has a lot of Horford in him.

Chatgpt prediction:

NBA MOCK DRAFT: Final projection for every team's pick in first round

NBA draft 2025: ChatGPT predicts every first round pick
1. Dallas Mavericks: Cooper Flagg, F, Duke
ChatGPT wrote: "Unanimous top pick; versatile two-way star, Wooden winner."

2. San Antonio Spurs: Dylan Harper, G, Rutgers
It wrote: "Elite driver and scorer, shooting remains a question; consensus No.  2."

3. Philadelphia 76ers: V.J. Edgecombe, G/F, Baylor
It wrote: "Athletic playmaker and defensive force; top fit for Philly"

4. Charlotte Hornets: Kon Knueppel, W, Duke
It wrote: "Sharpshooting wing with high floor; alternative to Edgecombe."

5. Utah Jazz: Khaman Maluach, C, Duke
It wrote: "Center with massive upside: elite rim protection, shooting upside."

6. Washington Wizards: Ace Bailey, G/W, Rutgers
The AI chatbot wrote: "Scoring wing; draft stock wobbles due to skipped workouts, but talent keeps him high."

7. New Orleans Pelicans: Tre Johnson, G/W, Texas
ChatGPT wrote: "Dynamic scorer and facilitator; fits well with New Orleans’ team structure."

8. Brooklyn Nets: Jeremiah Fears, G, Oklahoma
It wrote: "High school track record and elite ball‐handling; playmaking upside."

9. Toronto Raptors: Thomas Sorber, F/C, Georgetown
It wrote: "Freshman All‑Big East big; floor-spacing and shot-blocking ability."

10. Houston Rockets: Collin Murray-Boyles, G/W, South Carolina
It wrote: "3‑and‑D wing and late first-round sleeper."

Perhaps ChatGPT does not realize that the 10th overall pick is not necessarily "late" in the first round. Nevertheless, the mock draft continues.

11. Portland Trail Blazers: Derik Queen, C, Maryland
The chatbot wrote: "Skilled big, draft stock ~11."

12. Chicago Bulls: Noa Essengue, F, Ratiopharm Ulm (Germany)
It wrote: "Athletic forward with upside."

13. Atlanta Hawks: Nolan Traoré, G, Saint-Quentin (France)
It wrote: "Pro guard, Euro floor-general."

14. San Antonio Spurs: Asa Newell, F, Georgia
ChatGPT wrote: "6'11" versatile forward."

Chat Gpt. Hmmm is reaĺly just an amalgamation of prevailing published opinion but... other than 5 and 9 and 10 they are giving us a predictable report. Back up bigs are an easy get by other means. I think Essengue and Queen are far more likely at 9 than reaching for Sorber. Microsoft products SUCK! LOL.

I literally just asked chatgpt to give a final prediction and it had us pick Maluach. Also has Bailey going to Jazz and Jaku going to Nets.

Jerry Lucas wrote:The Essengue smoke is looking too obvious to me. First the Scottie/Pascal/Kawhi comments, and now the "secret" workout?

This is either the biggest smokescreen ever from the Raptors, or they did not do a good job hiding their Essengue interest.

It wouldn't be hard for ESPN to learn where his flight was going.

The Raps already have 12 players locked into contracts for the upcoming season so I don't think it's likely that they trade 9 for a bunch of other picks. This offseason feels more about the Raps wanting to add quality over quantity and if anything, it's probably more likely they move up than down.

I wonder who is the best player we can package RJ or IQ/and 9 for

Honestly wouldn’t mind Beringer in the late first round and use 9 to get a borderline star and move back

I don’t know about Essengue, seems like a project and a Bruno Caboclo pick. A Thunder pick since they can afford to draft long term type of players

Tre Johnson @8?? If he falls like that, hope we pounce. Sheesh!

Has us taking Yang at 39, which is unlikely but would be good an awesome outcome

Return to Toronto Raptors
