Patience & discipline being rewarded?! lol

He traded for BI and has been trying desperately to trade for another upgrade, he's been the opposite. If anything this could be another "Lowry" like situation where it works out better despite his lack of it at the time.

He's obviously been overly patient at other times but this is not one where we commend him for something that hasn't been the case in this moment but I do hope it works out where we just add another 1st and then he does REVERT to some level of patience to let these guys build up their value and then attack (ie/ when Jokic becomes available).

Despite the naysayers, Masai still is a premium President/GM in the league period. The hall of famers like Chuck and Shaq have already mentioned this. Excellent at drafting and trades. I just hope he stays the course and doesn't make any trades out of desperation.

What's even better is that he's lost some of his own pieces, despite playing no opponent

he could be playing against himself

There's no obvious pathway at this point given the state of our roster, so believing Masai is playing "4D chess" or whatever because he knows consolidation trades is the way seems a little presumptuous. We need more patience in our patience threads.

og was traded on dec 30, 2023. we're basically 1.5 years from that point and our roster is like 90% different.

and more moves to come! it will either be masai after this year or someone else.

Tacoma wrote:Masai isn't all that patient lately. He was patient waiting 5 yrs to break up the Lowry/DD/JV core inherited from Colangelo, flipping DD for Kawhi & then JV for Gasol. But since 2020, he's tried to reproduce his Kawhi deal by attempting shortcut trades for older vets like Lillard, Giannis & KD.

He preached patience last summer saying we need to give BBQ a chance to play together and now trying to trade RJ and IQ even though they've hardly played together due to injuries last season. He once deemed Barnes untouchable but allegedly willing to trade him now for 37 yr old KD.

Overall, he's exhibited less patience over the past 5 years with 3 of those years ending as tank years as the payoff. His playing 4D chess reputation has turned into 1D chess playing against himself as LoveMyRaps' picture shows.

Very load bearing allegedly. Your post mentions 3 players who… are still on the Toronto Raptors. And 3 trade targets who were not traded for.

So we’re calling FOs impatient based on trades they didn’t even make.

To be fair, you don't have to be patient or not. You just need to do the right thing at the right time and with a bit of luck, you win.

Masai has a history of doing just that and he's going to do that when the time is right again. Just wait and you will see.

Patience is not for him, it's for you my good Mikistan.

I was patient enough watching demar derozan's defence and inefficient long 2s offense for years, and fans loved him.
Now we have Scottie who is inefficient but actually plays defense and fans destroy him at 23 years old after ROY and allstar campaigns...

Might as well trade him for the corpse of KD right!

This picture and the lack of an opponent is apt considering the unnecessary IQ overpay.

Lots of people complained about Demar, it's just been years and years since he was on the team, so it's easy to forget. And that ROY should have gone to Mobley anyway, but that's another story.

If we never got Lowry, people would remember DeRozan differently. Very differently.
