I actually think this would be reasonable for both teams.

White is about the last guy I want to trade, but this could make a lot of sense for both teams. Puts SA right into the upper echelon of West, now, with Derrick's ability, experience and all-around fit. For Celtics, the financial burden can be further relieved while having a gap year to develop the new talent before Tatum is back in 2026-27. The main "core" of Tatum and Brown remains intact while a new cast of support is built.

However, I really like White. For him, it's not a bad move at all as he could move right into the WCF if things go well for Spurs.

The one thing about Brad generally: he has an amazing track record of success and character, but is also rather steady & predictable and likes racking up singles in preference to taking big swings.

If Brad did something really dramatic -- like a Kasparas/Yang draft -- that'd be out of character and it'd also make for a really fun night

I hope Brad can swing a package at the draft to trade up and get Kasparas Jakucionis, yet still have an early/mid 2nd and grab Yang. That would be a very unexpected "international' draft.

All things considered, I think the players in the current draft will have very little impact in the first year for the Celtics. The big news is the aprons and lux tax, then what the current contracts will bring back and who will stay.

A sneaky Kasparas/Yang draft would certainly make for some intrigue and fan fun in summer league and camp, but neither of these guys would likely contribute much since the Celtics are going to want to stay relevant next year. But for those new guys, Walsh, Scheierman, Queta and whoever else is still standing from the young bench, it's an opportunity year to learn and prepare for the next big push when tatum returns.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Depending who is still on the board I am with you. I’d go Fleming or Raynaud though first if still on the board.

Day of Tankathon Mock has us with Raynaud and Penda.
I’m down for that outcome please.

Those two are good options, too. I just think we need a legit center. I kind of think of Raynaud as a big stretch 4, but I like him too. I like Fleming, too. Kind of hope to come away with both a center and a 4 if we keep both 28 and 32.

Never mind the fact the Spurs would be sniffing glue to trade the #2 pick for Derrick White and I love Derrick.

Not likely at all. I agree.
Wish we kept that 22 pick.

Ben Saraf is doing well in the German League finals against Bayern - a legit Euroleague team. You know who else was doing well against legit Euroleague teams as a 19 year old playmaker?

That would be a pretty good haul. Others falling would be even better, though.
