I have specifically advocated for it but it remained to be seen whether the FO would actually consider it.

3-way that sends Mikal to HOU or MEM, youth and picks to BOS and White and a pick to NYK could make sense.

Follow it up with sending Hart out for two bench role players and you got something cooking.

If he's not going to shoot the three on volume and at a decent percentage, you have to move him. He breaks the entire structure of the offense if he doesn't want to shoot, and his defense isn't good enough to make up for it. The teams that have won the finals the last 10 years, all of them have perimeter players that will shoot when open.

^this

our offense was thrown out of rhythm so many occasions in the playoffs because the ball would rotate to an open Hart for 3, and he'd often pass up those shots

in playoff basketball, when defensive pressure is at its best, it's even more important to be able to capitalize on open opportunities. opposing teams played into that weakness, playing help/sagging off Hart

w/ Jalen getting to the rim as often as he does + we need shooters around him. We didn't have a single player rank in the top 50 of 3PT's made this season. Mikal has regressed as a shooter. he was great in the corners, but ~30% above the break. OG is a solid, but unspectacular 3PT shooter. and Towns wasn't utilized enough in the PnP game to accentuate his shooting skill (but even so, the main priority is shooting on the wing b/c there will be times KAT is down low, and we need kick out options)

I don't think they are bound to anything outside of CAA being a primary connection. Which makes a little sense. The connections bred instant chemistry though and turned us from the laughingstock of the league to an ECF/Finals level team.

I'm open for any sensible trades for pretty much everyone on the roster. Hahn pushing Giannis talk is pretty interesting. That doesn't mean this core, Villanova or not, isn't a damn good team. We should have been in the finals as far as most are concerned. Breaking that up after ONE season seems a bit out there but. Giannis is lurking.

I'm really hoping JJJ asks for a trade. he should. CAA is the best agency so they should be advising him to ask out of a small market team that just traded away one of their best players, and will be riding w/ a 1st year HC from overseas (only 1 yr NBA experience)

100% NO 10x over.

Zion is probably a bigger risk than even Mitch is. So many risks with him on multiple fronts. And we are going to trade KAT who was a great soldier for us and pretty much awesome at everything but Thibs defensive system which mis-utilized him?

No, KAT only goes for a top 15-20 player at worst and he will need to be a whole lot more reliable than Zion.

Exactly. It has to be a clear cut upgrade in terms of roster fit/construction.

I don't really understand why people are so quick to trade Mikal for D White.

White is going to be 31 in July while Mikal is going into his age 29 season.

We just watched White get torched by the Knicks defensively. He doesn't really address any of the issues Mikal has defensively. He's not a great POA or 1 on 1 defender. His value on that end is off the ball and hes weirdly a shot blocking presence at the rim. But that's what Mikal is good at as well.

While White by the numbers is better on O than Mikal, he is mainly a 3 point chucker and a decent drive and kick guy. The Knicks can use this kind of player for sure but that's going to funnel the offense even more to JB and KAT initiating everything since White doesn't really initiate anything for the C's. Mikal at least can post and run some pick and roll and buoy a bench unit offensively. Also if Mikal fixes his hitch we could be looking at him being back at 38-40% from 3 again and the trade would look stupid IMO.

I'd be much more interested in a Mitch/Hart package for D White. But even then you're losing some real depth.

The Pacers series was rough but Hart was fantastic through the first two rounds. We don't beat Boston without him.

You only trade him for a REAL upgrade.

My coach rankings (attainable):
1. Mike Brown
2. Chris Quinn
3. James Borrego
4. Frank Vogel
5. Sean Sweeney
6. Micah Nori
7. Taylor Jenkins

I'm w/ you on the top 2 targets. Would love Kessler, talent-wise, but he's about to get paid big $. Jabari is too much of a risk IMO at this stage, we need to win this year and push the chips in while the East is wide open, and he's still quite green (love the player and the upside tho)

white is a better defensive version of Divo (which is has a lot of value). His ability to shoot high volume 3's certainly would be very helpful next to Brunson if that is what we were going for.

I do think Mikal is a SF though that should be used more as a help defender like you mentioned...the issue with that...with him and OG they kinda are best in similar roles. And neither are great 3 pt shooters outside of the corner.

Then the other issue with that is if both are starting you probabaly have to keep KAT at center then which I'm not opposed too but if you want KAT at the PF having Mikal and OG at the SG/SF is just not enough high volume 3pt shooter you would need alongside Brunson/KAT and then having a center as well who can't shoot.

You would then need to find a POA defender that can shoot at the 2 guard.
