everyone gotta stop trying to trade Hart...he's an excellent role player/complimentary piece...its not his fault his previous coached abused his durability.

The Pacers series was rough but Hart was fantastic through the first two rounds. We don't beat Boston without him.

You only trade him for a REAL upgrade.

I feel like he would never admit it but the minutes catch up to him. Whether its an injury he is playing through or just general fatigue.

He needes to be told he is back to a 25-30 minute high level bench piece...and really put in that work on his shooting.

I have heard too much he can't really practice much during the season because he has to prepare for the high minutes load that thibs required him...that we need to move off of because I would rather have 25 very effective minutes from Hart then 40 minutes and him wearing down at the end of the year.

He was legit in the all-star conversation the first half of the season.

First dominoes before Brunson

Brunson's as entrenched here as Herb Williams was to the coaching staff. :D

I think his best role would be coming off the bench leading the second unit, if the Knicks were able to find another guard to complement Brunson.

I'm really hoping JJJ asks for a trade. he should. CAA is the best agency so they should be advising him to ask out of a small market team that just traded away one of their best players, and will be riding w/ a 1st year HC from overseas (only 1 yr NBA experience)

Coach targets:

#1 Kidd, #2 Brown, #3 Jenkins, #4 Nori

Player targets:

#1 Giannis , #2 JJJ, #3 Kessler/Jabari

Bonus: DDV

Draft tonight might reveal a few more clues of what certain team's directions are.....

My coach rankings (attainable):
1. Mike Brown
2. Chris Quinn
3. James Borrego
4. Frank Vogel
5. Sean Sweeney
6. Micah Nori
7. Taylor Jenkins

I'm w/ you on the top 2 targets. Would love Kessler, talent-wise, but he's about to get paid big $. Jabari is too much of a risk IMO at this stage, we need to win this year and push the chips in while the East is wide open, and he's still quite green (love the player and the upside tho)

Jabari would be the backup 4-5 needed mainly for his defensively versatility to further complement KAT along with Kessler. Kessler is CAA and we tend to like to get those guys.

Knicksfan1992 wrote:I don't really understand why people are so quick to trade Mikal for D White.

White is going to be 31 in July while Mikal is going into his age 29 season.

We just watched White get torched by the Knicks defensively. He doesn't really address any of the issues Mikal has defensively. He's not a great POA or 1 on 1 defender. His value on that end is off the ball and hes weirdly a shot blocking presence at the rim. But that's what Mikal is good at as well.

While White by the numbers is better on O than Mikal, he is mainly a 3 point chucker and a decent drive and kick guy. The Knicks can use this kind of player for sure but that's going to funnel the offense even more to JB and KAT initiating everything since White doesn't really initiate anything for the C's. Mikal at least can post and run some pick and roll and buoy a bench unit offensively. Also if Mikal fixes his hitch we could be looking at him being back at 38-40% from 3 again and the trade would look stupid IMO.

I'd be much more interested in a Mitch/Hart package for D White. But even then you're losing some real depth.

white is a better defensive version of Divo (which is has a lot of value). His ability to shoot high volume 3's certainly would be very helpful next to Brunson if that is what we were going for.

I do think Mikal is a SF though that should be used more as a help defender like you mentioned...the issue with that...with him and OG they kinda are best in similar roles. And neither are great 3 pt shooters outside of the corner.

Then the other issue with that is if both are starting you probabaly have to keep KAT at center then which I'm not opposed too but if you want KAT at the PF having Mikal and OG at the SG/SF is just not enough high volume 3pt shooter you would need alongside Brunson/KAT and then having a center as well who can't shoot.

You would then need to find a POA defender that can shoot at the 2 guard.

Excellent post. And bc he is a better defensive version of Divo coming off a pretty darn good year , he would be a lot more expensive to get in assets too unfortunately . Along with his contract currently being double DDV's.

Except when those CAA guys play for Utah and Ainge.

He still has to shoot the three, all the advanced stats are cool, but at the end of the day if the opponents aren't guarding you AND can keep you off the glass it becomes a problem.

Draft Rumors:

The Knicks currently only have the 50th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Despite not having a first-round pick, there are rumors about the Knicks potentially trading up in the second round.

They've been linked to prospects like Muhammad Diawara (a tall guard from France) and Kobe Sanders (compared to Shawn Livingston, a bigger point guard who could play alongside Jalen Brunson).

I don't know why people post Asshola or Vermin anymore...I guess for comedy, huh

All I’m saying is if you can turn hart and a guy into Coby white and a guy like Jaylen smith you gotta do it. Now that doesn’t mean hart isn’t a great player obviously because he would be the catalyst for a trade.

Hart has his faults but I feel like trading him away would lead to a lost of identity that we can’t afford, IMO. First Donte, then Hart. We need some of that.

If we can’t get Giannis, we should keep the core intact. That’s Nova and Towns imo.

Berman has been pretty good the last few years. He tells basketball and Knicks related dad jokes and occasionally releases some behind the scene news or gives up a scoop.

Like his recent KD tweet was completely sarcastic and worth a chuckle.

Isola hates the Knicks and really seems to love trolling them.
