Well if you listen to dhak and the rest of them he's coming back in March and giving us that boost for the playoffs, bud..

If you're going to embarrass your self at least make the effort follow the thread.

Idk who "dhak and the rest of them" are. But sure, it would be great if he comes back.

You clearly don't seem to believe he will though, so hence why your post makes no sense.

Anyways, how about you stop trying to derail the thread since you're in your feels when I simply ask what value you bring to this board?

I'm still waiting for this magical post you claimed I produced.

And Im glad you admitted right in your first sentence that you don't know. That was very beta of you. Thank you.

Yes because I'm going to go waste my time searching your post history? And then once I find it you'll somehow try to discredit lol

I'm not in the business of derailing the thread and arguing with a middle schooler. "That was very beta of you" - are we in 6th grade, buddy?

any signs of a Celtics trade up? I asked a scout and got an emphatic "no" ... the names I'm hearing: Kalkbrenner, Penda, Rasheer Fleming

First Apron ($178.132M)
If a team’s payroll is above this:

The team is hard-capped at the first apron (cannot go above it) if it uses certain exceptions (like the non-taxpayer mid-level exception or sign-and-trade to acquire a player).
No direct tax penalty at this level—just significant restrictions on roster-building:
Cannot use the full mid-level exception.
Cannot take in more salary than it sends out in trades.
Cannot sign players via sign-and-trade.
Cannot sign waived players making $12.4M+.
Team still pays standard luxury tax if above tax line.

Second Apron ($188.931M)
If a team’s payroll is above this:

Even stricter roster-building rules—still no direct “second apron tax” per se, but additional limits:
Can’t use any mid-level exception.
Can’t aggregate salaries in trades.
Can’t trade for a player making more than what you send out.
Can’t trade a future first-round pick seven years out.
Can’t include cash in trades.
Multi-team trades are heavily restricted.

Team continues to pay standard (or repeater) luxury tax for every dollar above the tax line.

Blowing up your roster to save money against the tax does not mean you get flowers for making the playoffs and winning a round or two.

The Jays are in their championship window and not winning it is a complete waste of time.

This is the **** I mean with the green teamers. You don't live in the real world.

There isn't a single **** scenario where I applaud the Celtics for making the playoffs. None. Let's get that out the way now.

Congratulations, your applause or lack thereof is what keeps Brad up at night.

We do not care if you think it’s a complete waste of time! Only one team wins every season. Celtics have won 2 times in the last 40-ish years. That’s facts over feelings. We can do EVERYTHING you say and still always lose in the playoffs! Do everything you think is genius and still come out no better than the jays! You think you’re some Nostradamus? Most of the Celtics history has been a waste of time to you, huh? 18 chips out of 79 years!

What's your point shak. Is your point they brad is aiming for the second round next year?

Seems like a low bar for the Celtics.

With JT out for the year they don't have championship hopes. So, not sure how 2nd round would be a low bar.

If you are going to troll, do better, bud. Or while you're at it go outside and touch grass.

Shak is the one who said Tatum wasn't out for the season.

Take a moment and comprehend what you're reading before you rush in here and try and slam dunk all over me.

My expectations next year is they aren't doing ****. Which they will most definitely meet, it's shak who has unrealistic expectations.

I'm not the one who thinks they're winning the title hahahahahahah

Trust me, if I’m able to be here and they’re bad, I’ll say you were right. I just want that same energy in return. Don’t try and rewrite history though, this isn’t about a chip, it’s about a good or bad team.

Sucks he got hurt and next year is essentially a throwaway year.

Definitely a positive, but if you think the finances have nothing to do with it, I disagree. The 1st and 2nd aprons have nothing to do with money, and saving money is on the agenda.

I'm not trying to get past the second round next year shak. I'm trying to build for the future.

You're the one who's holding on to a optimistic outcome for next season, regardless of championship accomplishments or not.

As I said. You're totally fine with winning a bunch of games, maybe some playoff games and call it a successful season. That's you. Thats your position.

Mine is that were better off getting this team in position to compete for a title when Tatum comes back and winning some useless games next year makes that infinitely more harder.

I don't have to accept that reaching their ceiling of being a playoff team and having some competitive playoff games is a good season.

Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation where someone tries to make another person doubt their own memory, perception, or sanity. The goal is usually to gain power or control by making the victim feel confused or unsure about what’s real.
