Houston is putting on a masterclass. They still have most of their picks plus a future Brooklyn pick and 2 PHX or Dallas picks.

OK...so now we are into the second round, where values are declining quickly...CHA just gave away Mark Williams and only have Nurk at C

Would they consider Goga, #46 & #57 for #33 & #34?

or, Howard? or ORL could take back Micic if CHA doesn't have cap space or TPE...he's expiring and potentially useful crafty ballhandler, passing PG

Goga is too good and too expensive to be 3rd string C and Mose clearly doesn't have a lot of faith in him. At least one of Kalkbrenner and Raynaud will likely still be there and plenty of defensive-minded wings like Sion James, Rasheer Fleming (I have doubts), or Noah Penda...or just take a swing on a sniper like Kobe Brea or Chaz Lanier...it's just the second round, so swing away...I still like Nembhard late if we have the pick. He led the NCAA in assists, I believe and is said to just be a super-mature, high BBIQ leader who finds a way.

Before 7/1 free agent market, the only thing I wish we could do is getting rid of Jett then use MLE to sign someone like NAW of GTJ.

isnt Goga the 2nd string C? with Isaac slimming back down, his more natural role is PF again

Technically, because Mose would never dream of starting Moe, but I think most here would agree (?) that Moe is more valuable off the bench and will get more minutes if all 3 (or some 3) are all healthy...IF we need a $9m insurance policy JUST because WCJ is that unreliable - then we need to get rid of WCJ too. I like Goga but I'd be just as happy with a rookie 7' guy who can only defend in drop for a fraction of the price (and maybe much more upside).

I'd say that gets ORL a discount...but I certainly want him back. I don't think we couldn't find a vet min banger to keep it together until he's back...or better yet - a rookie srp like the two big guys still sitting there, that were likely frps. (Raynaud & Kalkbrenner) - shouldn't be hard to trade up in the second.

oh, I definitely want Moe back. I can see them maybe moving Goga at the trade deadline, depending on how Moe looks. And i would personally rather move WCJ and run with Goga, but im just not big on WCJ. I was okay with him on his previous deal but not the new one

Can Sexton be an option for the Magic, since they drafted WCJ they have bloated back court.

I don't think we'll sign anymore small guards.

Why don’t we have a dedicated free agency thread?

I don't think I totally agree with that. I could see them just accepting that Jase is only going to be a 20 year old rookie and probably not ready to step in and contribute to a 50+ win team next year.

I wouldn't be surprised or upset if they added another veteran PG who might not necessarily have a lot of size.

Would you guys prefer Monk as the primary backup PG and vet min. guy like Taurean Prince ,Larry Nance, Precious Achiuwa backing up Paolo

OR

Isaac as the primary backup to Paolo and a vet min. guy (or a tiny more) like Brogdon/Tyus/Tre as the primary backup PG?

You are right. We still need a veteran scorer at the bench. For now, our bench roster is:

Goga / MoW
Isaac
TDS
Jett / Richarson
Black

That’s a disaster on offense…
Adding someone like Sexton, Gary Trent or Monk will be excellent and I think we don’t need to pay too much price.

Now with Jase, I’d rather go option 1.

Because Jase can fill in as a pseudo point and a Tre/Tyus back court with him is just way too small and too frail defensively.

Paolo’s backup doesn’t concern me. I’m more concerned about the back court depth considering it’s always been an issue. Allocating anything other than vet min or rookie scale behind Paolo feels too much.
