This is the time that everything usually goes dark. Doesn’t mean there aren’t flows of information. But the intentional leaks and game playing are usually done. Teams have been working to finalize their scenarios. They have a good idea of the directions or the deals on the table. They may even be sharing some highly confidential intel with TRUSTED reporters who they know won’t talk. Reporters like to prepare their lead stories in advance so everything isn’t off the cuff. It’s how you see the broadcast begin on ESPN with their trusted star scribe calmly sharing some super nugget of info he’s been sitting on for hours.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I saw on twitter that he said he was and that he was planning on playing for his national team this summer.

Just the fact of it occurring and no one knowing wtf was going on was enough to scare me away from any interest though.

My gut feeling is VJ goes 3rd after the Hornets balk at putting a first in to trade up, and they trade back while on the clock to the Wiz or Pels who want Fears. Then Kon goes 5, and Hornets still end up with either Ace or Tre unless they do the stupid thing and pass on them for Malauch. While I like Jaku in a vacuum, he is not explosive in the least and reminds me more of a Bogdanovic than someone who can reach their star potential like Tre or Ace.

This is my wish list

Trade upto no 2 for Harper OR
Trade down to 8 and get Cam Johnson and there 19th pick
8th pick Kon/Bailey if he slides
19th Flemming
Trade up for Kalkbrenner with the 2 2nd rd picks

Doing this all day, I’m sure we all have PTSD from the players we’ve drafted but never played for us but this just makes so much sense.

This guy also says the Wiz are high on Fears, so they could just wait it out and stick at 6

Imo....Hornets aren't making any trades until sixers make a move. If sixers don't draft vj for some reason, hornets take vj. Unlikely, but still...

Plus, 8 is too far to drop to guarantee one of tre/kon.

Connecting the dots:

-Wizards probably do want Ace, but enough to move up to 6 for him? While thinking there’s a real chance he’s there at 6 anyways

-Charlotte ideally would like to move down, but probably not all the way to 8

-So Washington and Charlotte are stuck in a game of chicken. Do the Wizards want Ace badly enough to part with future assets for him?

Makes you wonder where we’re at on Ace. If we’re comfortable with having him on the team, we could draft him and then see if it prompts a trade. And if we can’t get what we want just be like “alright, we’ll keep him.” That could be the best way to get Washington to bite if they truly want him

This. I'd go ahead and draft him and then ship him to the highest bidder. If the packages offered are underwhelming, then just keep him and call it a day.
