I think in the buy low angle, we need to consider guys like Forbes, Beasley, Carter, GTJ and others will be better with Giannis gravity. That’s why I’d be looking for guys that we get paid to take and see what they can do here, especially if we are doing a gap year. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t (Semi, Kuzma, etc).

Still think this is the year to absorb players into whatever exceptions we can create to build back assets. I’d be looking at every contract we could get paid to take and make that a priority.

He's attainable with the rations we have available to trade (maybe, I actually don't think he is) and he can hit shots. That's kind of it.

Anybody on your wishlist isn't coming through that door.

Who's on my wishlist? I need to know.

I love shooting, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get a one dimenional guy, unless his dimension is being a great switchable defender.

Pretty soon we're gonna find out that we'll be lucky to get guys who have any established dimensions to their game.

We have to fill an entire roster with essentially no money.

Edit:
And I have no idea who's on your wishlist. I'm saying we're not getting any players on anybody's wishlist. Patchwork is the word that comes to mind.

He's a pretty good defender too. I didn't believe in him coming out of college but I think he's a solid rotation player.

O’Neale is in his early 30’s but is still a solid role player who can shoot and rebound. He’s also capable of closing out games.

To me KPJ and Portis (if he opts out) should be Horst’s top priorities to resign. Trent, Sims and Rollins should also be considered but only if the price is right.

If we're bailing PHX out of that Royce contract then we better be getting the 29th pick here.

I think swapping our 2nd for #29 would be fair.

Hes like AJ Green but taller and i think probably a better defender, better at moving with and without the ball, better at shooting on the move.

I agree he's similar to Green, but I think Green is a better defender (slightly) and better at all aspects of shooting.

Either way I'd be happy to have him and having both him and Green on the court at the same time would be a good thing (especially with Giannis)

Have we traded Giannis for Sengun and a 2nd round pick yet?

Hauser was over 60% on 2s this past year while Green was in the low 40s. Green cant really shoot on the move and ive seen Hauser do it. Neither are Reddick obviously.

I think people are going to be surprised by what the Celtics get for Hauser.

It certainly won't be Brook Lopez.

And I think people are going to be surprised by what Brook Lopez will get. No interest in Hauser now that it seems like the league as a whole seems intent on bailing out Boston from their self-inflicted cap hell. I would take him into the MLE with some 2nd's attached but that's about it.

I agree on Lopez.

I'll be very surprised if Hauser needs assets attached. I think Boston will get assets.

In short, I think Hauser is more valuable than Lopez by a fair margin, but Lopez will get us something in a sign and trade.

He can shoot off movement and has a fast high release. He's the closest thing we're likely to find to the 6-8 AJ Green I've thrown around as an ideal rotation add.

Hauser takes 1.8 two-point FG attempts per-36 minutes. I don't know what we're doing here. Dude hit some 3's in a couple blowout Finals games last year but has otherwise been played off the court in every other big playoff series he's been in. We need to be identifying guys that have room to grow their offensive skill set in a bigger role, not devote more cap resources to another dude whose entire value disintegrates if he's not hitting 40-50% of his threes.

I’d absorb Hauser into space if we’re getting an asset, but I wouldn’t give up an asset to take him on.

Even the fan pages on social media that constantly make **** up are relatively silent now about the Bucks. Last things I’ve even seen was a Nets fan page say we’re interested in DLo 2 days ago and whoever Sean Wright is said Horst seemingly has “an ace up his sleeve” for draft night. All we know is moves have to be made. Hurry up and wait I guess. I’m not expecting anything crazy but the Jrue trade, Bogi trade and Dame trade all kinda caught me by surprise so I guess that’s why now the anticipation sucks so bad lol. Especially when there’s already been 4 headliner trades in the past 10 days.

Horst can have whatever cool ideas in his head but we don’t have much in the way of assets (because of him, in large part) and he’s not nearly a good enough GM to swindle teams. I’m not expecting much tonight.

Bucks moves, large and small, have come out of nowhere. They've done a good job eliminating leaks. Leaks that come out this time of year are generally from agents trying to pretend there is interest in their client.

And yes, we don't have much to work with for trades. Whatever moves we make are likely to be around the edges. That's fine. I know many of you want "big moves" but most of the trade proposals in this thread are unrealistic to begin with.

I just want them to do something other than sit on their hands and think this bare roster plus Doc is gonna do anything next year. Take a risk, take a swing, take a few swings. Buy a 2nd round pick. Get creative with a secondary pick swap. Trade for a distressed asset type player that could flourish in a different new environment. Eat some bad salary for a future tradeable pick. Have some sort of vision other than just throwing assets at the best available veteran role-player. Just do something that inspires confidence in both the fanbase and your star player to make them believe there's an actual vision/plan here beyond just being a reactionary organization.

Not at last draft. It leaked they were going to draft Johnson at 33, forcing them to do it at 23; which Vecenie had been reporting. BTW, in his mock he has Aussie C Rocco Zikarsky to the Bucks. But whoever was talking to Sam last yr ought to have stopped to not blow up our spot.

Lopez is going to make between 5 and 12M per season in a sign and trade. We do not have room for that, unless...

Unless we can get a Trent type for him which would enable us to use the full MLE on kpj and send Gary packing.

There is also the possibility of trading him into a trade exception and just getting a couple 2nds.

We cannot take on useless salary for him, though. Absolutely cannot. Hes more valuable off of the roster in that case
