He was from the pop coaching tree. I don't think anyone would truly be successful in Charlotte.

I think he's offensive guy and believe in modern pace and space type ball movement offense.

I wouldn't hold it against him but I guess a con is he only has one winning season as a coach.

I looked. Those rosters were putrid and the one winning season he had was when they got LaMelo.

I'd love to know what his plan would be for this roster

Lol this stuff has way too many variables for it to always work out but it most definitely feels like this is Plan A for Knicks. If Kidd and Giannis are already on board through back channels, it just needs the Mavs and Bucks to cooperate which obviously will have some layers of complexity to it.

Does Giannis have the pull with ownership to tell them Ive been loyal all these years and I want you only to trade me to the Knicks?

Do the Mavs let Kidd go if he clearly asks behind the scenes to leave? He much would the Mavs try to make us pay in picks?

There's no way this dude is gonna resign with the way he's moving. He's been pretty involved in the whole draft process with Nico. There's like a 0.1% chance that happens :lol:

from a Mavs perspective, it makes no sense to let him leave now, after the draft, and before summer league w/o having a replacement. And they let a potential replacement walk in Sean Sweeney. I'd assume Mavs would want their #1 pick, one of the best prospects (top 5?) in the last 10-15 years to be coached in summer league by the staff that he'll have rookie year

He might've been done dirty cause that roster was terrible.

I thought this was a good read. A Hornets journalist wrote about revisiting firing Borrego last month and to sum it up: the Hornets have been a dumpster fire since they let him go.
