Just got home and watched his highlight video and this dude is so versatile and skilled on the defensive side of the ball. Can defend all 5 spots, his defensive awareness is off the charts, his recoverability is insane, timing impeccable.
Not a complete zero on offense, he's the perfect front court mate for KAT and OG because he can cover so many kinds of front court players. I love Huk but this guy is better right now, Njaji...sorry bud but you just too raw compared to him.
Why he isn't mocked anywhere on the board not even second round is a crime, I even see he hit a couple 3s in this video and his shot doesn't look broken. Sign me up, love his attitude, too. The Garden would love him.
After years of talking about someone who could make Mitch expendable...well, not even a single regular season minute yet....yet. Well, crap, he can't hit FTs...![]()
Wow he looks good. I hope the none of our rivals know about him.
Being on the one of the top teams as a senior teams know who he is but his age might hurt his draft stock. I don't even see him mocked in the 2nd round so could it be the Knicks can sign him as a UFA if he doesn't get drafted? Hard to believe someone won't take a chance on him.
Yea, limited offensively sure but for a second rounder he has a ton of agility and ability that translates to the next level. A more offensive big with some defensive skills, though not as versatile is Vlad Goldin out of Michigan.
I also just watched some Peavey video and like what I saw. Can shoot it from deep, finish around the basket, drive some and a middy game with a sweet one foot fade. Has a nose for the offensive glass and gets into passing lanes so not just a offensive one way player.
I just started digging into who might be available at pick 50 but something tells me I'm wasting my time and getting hyped for nothing. They will trade the pick or something trying to save a few bucks this season for reasons only Aller understands.
Who knows? But the Thibs firing may signal that we are starting to come off of that conservative mindset a little....enough so that we swing more on upside....i hope.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft June 25 & 26
Last year I was hoping the Knicks would trade up to the Detroit pick in the top 5 by sending their protected pick back, those late 2024 1st's and possibly Mitch to grab Stephon Castle and develop him as bigger ball handler/defender to eventually play next to Brunson.
This year I wouldn't mind trading up into the late lottery if possible with the Wizards protected pick and Mitch for a guy like Carter Bryant if he starts to slip. Young athletic big 3 and D wing that can defend multiple positions with some upside and shot blocking ability.
Seeing as that is unlikely to happen I hope they just find someone late in the draft that could possibly fill one of the team's holes. I felt the team lacked athleticism, ball-handling, facilitating, consistent shooting, depth on the wings, high basketball IQ, rim protectors etc. Anybody that can provide 1 or 2 of those things would be fine with me.

It sounds like the Knicks are at least considering moving into the top of the second round. Their sweet spot is usually between 20-40

Then Knicks brains have been focusing full time on the draft and probably didn’t have much time to complete the coaching search.

why does the 1st pick need 5 minutes ? it's not like their guy has a chance of being off the board. they've been thinking about this for a month.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft June 25 & 26
I'm not gonna lie, would be nice to have a 1st round pick, I love drafts (NBA and NFL). fun night
can you still buy 2nd rounders? would love to snag another 2nd (early 2nd) b/c this team will need to win on the margins as well w/ cheap talent.
I like Dadiet's skill set, but he still looks quite green. he's still a year away from being a year away
I get a bit nostalgic on draft night. spent so many years watching the draft lottery/draft and hoping for Knicks fortune, yet they always disappointed me (taking players like Frank or Knox, Obi over Hali). A part of me has always wanted a team similar to OKC, built thru the draft, something sustainable b/c frankly, we're capped at a 3-4 year run. Hopefully it's a hell of a run, but after that, we don't even own our picks w/ the Mikal trade kinda backfiring. Good player/not worth 4 1sts and a swap

I really like to think that they're able to multi-task and do both of those things at the same time . . .but you never know.
In other news, Indi did a trade that I kind of would have liked NY to do. They picked up the Spurs #38 pick for their 2026 2nd rounder and cash.
Granted, Indy might lose more games next year and SA didn't need a 3rd rookie, so it's a fair trade for both sides. We might or might not have a pick in the 40s next year to offer SA in return, but it would have been nice to get that #38 pick for this year. The Washington draft pick is in limbo and will be until we get an idea if they're going to win enough games next year. (probably not), but since it might be a first, they shouldn't trade that as a 2nd.
Beyond that, they have an unfavorable 2nd for 2026 (they traded theirs but are getting back a 2nd that's the lowest among 3 teams, so it'll likely be in teh 50s)
So future Knicks picks
2025: #50
2026:
THey have their first (not their 2nd - that was sent to Detroit), but that first rounder becomes tradable either at or not long after the draft. The Stepian rule doesn't apply to next season's pick.
Washington pick - Limbo, but probably turns into high 2nd 2026 and 2027
And a late 2nd rounder (the lowest of Detroit, Milwaukee, Orlando) so probably somewhere in the 50s.
2027:
They have 3 2nd rounders, perhaps 4 when the Washington pick is determined.
so they have some junk 2nd rounders they can toss about and add something this year.

Will OKC and the Knicks make another draft night trade to continue the tradition?
