2025 Draft Night Picks Discussion
Who we gonna take? What picks that we need will we waste to trade Beal?

Maluach if he's there. Otherwise, I have no clue.

I hope KJ drops but I honestly haven't heard anyone connect him with the Suns so I doubt we take him even if Toronto passes

Fun player but his lack of a current jumper scares me.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

He shoots a lot of off the dribble 3's which is why his %'s doesn't look great but his % is actually pretty good for an off the dribble 3. He's also pretty good pulling up in the mid range. What I love most about him is his ability to great on ball but also be a scorer off ball. Perfect player type and size next to Book imo.
The Encouraging Parts Of His Game
Jakučionis has established himself as a polished off-the-dribble shooter, with a great ability to organize his shooting footwork quickly. He’s demonstrated strong touch across different areas of the court — beyond the perimeter, inside the arc, and free throws—while maintaining efficiency despite a heavy on-ball workload.
In addition to his shotmaking, Jakučionis has posted a 26% assist rate, showcasing his ability to take on a high playmaking load. This holds up on tape where he consistently reads defenses and operates as a live-dribble passer. Illinois used him extensively in ball screens and structured spacing, allowing him to punish defenders with bounce passes, skips, and pocket feeds.
What separates Jakučionis from many ball-handlers in his class is how he uses physicality and footwork to generate scoring windows. Rather than relying on burst, he bumps defenders off their line, leverages angles, and finds creative finishes around the rim. Illinois supported this style by incorporating shallow cuts to engage weak-side help early and stampede actions to get Jakučionis downhill before the catch. These concepts allowed him to create advantages without needing to beat defenders off the dribble, while amplifying his footwork and touch near the basket.

Either PG from Europe for me. Demin or Jakcnious. Lean Demin cause he's huge and and a better passer

I don't know **** about college or whatever but in my very rudimentary research, I'd take these guys over anyone else too.
Demin gives me a bit of pause because of his country of origin as that could always end up posing problems.
But ya, I'm a fan of the footwork and drive guys. Seems like both have a clear competitive desire and competence.

Probably the best passer in this draft but a rough shooter, very poor efficiency and doesn't do much else

Being a great passer is tough to take advantage of if you're not a threat to score.

Re: 2025 Draft Night Picks Discussion
So if we are going to trade Beal with the #10 pick and hope to get Danny Wolf, it makes sense the team is Washington at #18. I just wonder if that is the case, what player we take back from Washington?
I guess MIddleton and/or Poole?

With Booker and Green on the team, there won't be much room for others to get shots. Might as well have someone to set those 2 up.

He can still find the passing angles and lanes. If they play WAY off him, then he can just drive as he has pretty good feet.

There are talented playmakers in the vet min bin that can't shoot/score if their life depended on it.

I would hate trading 10 with Beal so much, unless it's just trading down like 2 spots. This might be their only lottery pick for a long time

I'm open to moving down to move Beal but yeah not like down more than say 4-5 spots though

KP is still there and so is Maluach. Toronto has to take one of them which potentially leaves the other for us.

I have faith that his shot will come around and in the meantime we'd have an awesome PG who pass like Nash used to.
