if there are no 2025 picks in it, doesn't need to be a draft night deal. does a 26 or 27 become available to deal this offseason? could be a distant pick too, that may even be preferred.

Nope ORL sent em all out the door, #16, 2026, 2028, 2030, and 2029 swap...ORL can still trade #25 after selecting a player with it, on draft night

ok value wise that's still there so done deal, would just want to repackage at least 1 of 26/27 to teams looking to get into the draft for a future FRP but that seems like it should be doable. There will be 1 or 2 green room prospects still on the board at that point.

getting black and a future FRP is good value for clax.

I change my mind on the guys in this range every day. Good thing I don't have to wonder any more after tomorrow!

But for real, if we can move up to 3 or 4 and wind up with Ace Bailey... dear lord.

I LOVED Bailey till at least the halfway point of the college season, then cooled on him some, but I think it’s important to remember the tools, advanced moves, gravity and potential he holds.

Would be really exciting if we get him.

we've all seen the flashes and size wise (and stats wise) he is basically tatum. no, im not saying that's what he'll be but i think it's fair to say he has that type of talent. if marks believes he fits the culture there is no more talented player they can get so im in even if im expecting something more akin to a kuminga type of outcome, which is sort of a wing version of cam thomas.

with kuminga being an RFA and farther along in his development, part of me wonders if it's not smarter to just sign him and use the highest draft pick on another talented young player at a different position. but it is certainly possible to have a much higher opinion of bailey than kuminga, or the $ cost of poaching kuminga.

I just think Kuminga kinda sucks. You can give any context you can find, but him not getting run so often for Kerr and continuing to make the same boneheaded low IQ mistakes shows me he’s a negative impact player who can occasionally put up nice numbers and make flashy Sports Center plays.

Pass.

I can buy that Kuminga kind of sucks. But he's 7 years younger than CamJ, so if you can trade CamJ for picks, then add Kuminga for cap space, so long as the deal isn't crazy it's probably fine. He is a stat stuffer you can try to develop in a bigger role and hopefully build up value to trade him at a higher value. Just dont offer too much, if GS matches fine.

I wanted Fears Bailey or Kon but I don't hate Demin, especially compared to Fears who was always most realistic there. Fears has 1 path to stardom and does 1 thing at a supremely high level, Demin has a few paths with his length and playmaking.

What fears done is more important and I believe in his shot more which is why i wanted him, but i think demin has legit upside too.

I don't hate Demin pick, just sad that we couldn't trade back to make the same pick.

Haha, not a Demin fan?

It's definitely a risky selection when there were safer floor guys there, but I'm okay swinging for the fences...

he was 10-11 on the consensus of all big boards so would have been risky if they really liked him, and his skillset obviously unique. pretty sure no other pg has gone since him.

would have liked to get up for essengue but not at the cost of an unprotected 2026 pick.

crazy we may see them make all 5 picks. jaku, traore, wolf, reynaud, mcneeley, newell, riley, clifford. bunch of interesting names still out there.

I think I'd prefer Newell and then grabbing one of those 2 at 22.

I don’t ever see a role for him where he hits a crazy ceiling and he needs so many things to break his way to even be a good role player.

He can’t shoot, his athleticism, handle and first step is suspect, he gets beat up by physical players and isn’t great defensively.

What role does he ever realistically play? I’m not even talking next season or two, I’m saying ever?

He’s not a point guard, he can’t shoot or put pressure on the D to be a wing, can’t 3&D to take advantage of spacing to be a secondary playmaker.

This pick facking sucks.

Should have made the trade with New Orleans and snagged that ‘26 pick.

So two pgs so far. Does this mean Cam Thomas will not be returning.

it all comes down to hitting shots. if he can develop a jumper he can be lamar odom, or a mini domantas. he has a unique skill set that simply doesn't have common archetypes, but at that point the alternative was maluach (who also needs to develop a jumper or else he's probably a role player).

id have been fine with the move down for that 2026 pick though. agree there.

back on the clock, kind of like mcneely here. hugo or wolf also interesting. or reynaud. would lean towards someone who can shoot though.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
