Probably the worst first round pick made in a decade.

The ineptitude is fascinating.

There was no reason not to trade down with BK.

This is will laughed at for years. It's gonna be a meme.

Get Schmtiz and Cronin out of town asap.

I mean going win-now with vets but taking big swings in the draft has been my ideal path since acceptance that we are not doing a true tear down.

Going both win-now with vets AND drafting win-now players is my least favorite path.

We just took the wrong big swing IMO.
100%.

You could also argue that we took the right swing but clearly at the wrong place. Big overpay.

I would have liked the Swing if we could have done it in a trade down - for 26 & 27 for example.

Jakucionis was projected as #10-12, he was there at 16, and we took who?

REEEEEEEEAAALLY surprised that he hasn't been picked.

GREAT pick for Miami.

Agreed. Steal of the draft so far for me...
Yeah, I didn't like him at #11, but Miami got a steal there.

Only way I'm mildly okay with the pick is if Ayton trade is pending. I think I'd rather have Kalkbrenner or Wolf, personally...

But yeah, no excuse for taking a player 10-20 picks too early.

And I do like Yang as a very lite late era Sabonis.

Hollinger on Yang: "his ability to guard anywhere in space is a major deficiency. He is neither quick nor instinctive, and his lack of athleticism at the most important defensive position offers him no place to hide"

Tankathon had him 42

Draft.net had him 34

Yahoo had him 36

The ringer had him 40

This is beyond malpractice.

And Clingan is already unathletic. We don't need someone even less athletic than that.

We traded a lottery pick for a second round pick.

Has to be Portland's.

If in 2028, it looks like Portland might loose out on the swap, they can possibly trade Orlando's pick to Chicago to clear the pick to be able to exercise the pick swap

Gotta clock out for kiddo bedtime. Have fun y'all...I hope I wake up to an Ayton trade and some kind of trade back from some team that really wanted Yang.

is this an all-time bad offseason?

maybe 16 with signing turner and giving gtj a ton of money is worse.

but this feels bad. what direction is this team even going? all I see is down the drain

Is it on purpose?

They know they're fired so they said ef you Portland?

I can't wait to hear the cope from Marang.

Ya I would be fine with swinging on Yang with one of the late BRK FRP. But using 16, our only pick, to take Clingan's backup?

Like, for real this FO thinks Yang is a elite prospect. That is the only explanation. I get it being a copycat league but you cant just wish on a prayer that this kid is Joker.

Absurd.

It has to have been for Jersey sales, surely.

But even then, trade back Cronin you idiot.

Is a possible Chinese buyer the only thing that makes sense here?

I'll say again: the sale of the team can't come soon enough and I hope the first acts of the new owner are to clean house, in both management and coaching.

I’m not going to pretend I have any idea how any of this is gonna shake out. This could end up being a huge bust or steal of the draft. Don’t know til we know and not stressing it, here for the lulz of the randomness.

Have to imagine there’s more moves coming which I like. Maybe Ayton gone, at least expect that Rob’s deal is probably getting declined.
Get ready to learn Chinese buddy... #YangBang
