I hope we don't look back on the Barnes years in the same way as the Bargnani ones. Record wise it's looking pretty similar so far.

We will look back on the “Barnes era” as a very dark time in Raptor history

we never had a 13 games stretch of hope from him did we?

Need more shooting 100%....I feel it will be a Barnes vs CMB thing for a while like Ross vs DD....

Both maybe can play together at times but they both operate in the same areas on the court.

CMB said he knows it's a 3 point shooting league and already started working on his mechanics. Let's see how he develops.

Yeah the 3 pointer will be a developmental thing but i would not hold my breath on CMB becoming a knock down shooter ever in his career....I think building the right players with him and adding more shooting around him would be more plausable ....If he adds an elite jumpshot in his game i would be a little shocked.

It's the only thing he's missing. If he had a jumper he'd be a top 3 pick.

Are you sure we're watching the same guy? Or are you remembering a different Reggie Evans from me?

CMB is an excellent ball-handler and playmaker and has a lot of skill and wiggle to his drives. That's not Reggie Evans at all. His shooting isn't great, but that's about where the similarities end.

he doesn't even need to stretch it to 3. the mid range is just as important in the post season.

I totally get it and see the upside - just have to pray the shot comes along to some degree. What degree will determine how high the ceiling ends up. The defence and smarts are there, scoring is the question. A little more size would be nice but has the length to be a small ball C at least.

I get the skepticism about his shot, but CMB averaged 22 pts per 40 on 63% TS and 55% FTr. If scoring is his biggest weakness, we might have found a good one.

His numbers in year 1 and year 2 were remarkably similar per 100 possessions/per 40 minutes. Advanced stats close too. On one hand it's good that his efficiency and hustle stats didn't drop with more minutes, but you'd hope he would show a bigger jump year over year.

At 6'7" you hope he becomes at least a good shooter....But in open gym it looks busted...We will see though...I would not put all my eggs in that basket though....If he becomes a competent shooter id be happy....If he can become a Wing/Stretch 4 that would be ideal....Don't think he ever can play the C....But i like the pick just think the roster needs to be reshaped a little.

I actually like his mid-range game. He has a lot of boogie on the ball. Once he trusts it a little more, he's going to be a headache to guard.

Playing with such bad teammates makes it a bit harder to evaluate but pretty impressive that he was still very efficient playing with scrubs.

Yeah, scoring in the NBA is a little different, but point taken.
