In a perfect world you dont waste a pick on Mogbo last year and just take Flip since hes basically pointless when CMB is just a 5x better version

Yeah the 3 pointer will be a developmental thing but i would not hold my breath on CMB becoming a knock down shooter ever in his career....I think building the right players with him and adding more shooting around him would be more plausable ....If he adds an elite jumpshot in his game i would be a little shocked.

It's the only thing he's missing. If he had a jumper he'd be a top 3 pick.

At 6'7" you hope he becomes at least a good shooter....But in open gym it looks busted...We will see though...I would not put all my eggs in that basket though....If he becomes a competent shooter id be happy....If he can become a Wing/Stretch 4 that would be ideal....Don't think he ever can play the C....But i like the pick just think the roster needs to be reshaped a little.

He's a 4/3 who can play small ball C in a pinch since he's so strong.

i called CMB 4 days ago

If you think you get credit for 4 days ago despite previously pouring cold water on CMB in the draft threads, what about the posters who have been saying it consistently since the 2024 draft cycle?
Tre Mann should have been a Top 10 Pick in the 2021 Draft

He can guard 1-5. Think PJ tucker without a 3.

Pre-cocaine Corliss.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

I don't think Maluach ends up as a big minute player. Looks like more of a platoon type to me. I'm not mad about passing on him. Whenever I watched a Duke game, I was incredibly underwhelmed. I'd be surprised if he was ever as good as Jak.

I don't mind CMB as a prospect and we know that we can develop athletic strong defenders who can't shoot. The fit doesn't make sense given the current roster but who knows what it's going to look like in a year. I have no idea what the plan is.

I think he’s a better ball handler than stiff PJ Tucker but I get your point.

Good comparison, PJ Tucker without the 3 but with better ball handling, passing and feel for the game.

Prediction: CMB is going to come for Scottie's role as defensive anchor and it's going to make Scottie better. His shooting was down last year but Scottie also didn't always seem like he was giving max effort defensively. This will change now for sure.

Time will tell on the emotional leadership stuff but he was punking guys all over the place despite playing on 12-20 South Carolina team with nothing to play for. Can't lie it's pretty exciting.
