To pass on that pick, which I am now hanging Daryl with, to take VJ is ineptitude. That pick could easily be top 10 next year in what's touted as a better draft.

Pelicans and Blazers (best of) is certainly going to be the pick of one of the worst 8 records in the league

I'm actually hoping for confirmation of the story that ownership killed a trade down

A trade-down scenario is very unlikely when the Hornets have basically telegraphed they’re taking Kon if VJ is off the board. I also don’t think we’re as interested in Tre as some expected.

Sounds like the 4 options were Flagg, Harper, VJ or Kon. Makes sense based on analytics.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

There is no way. That is someone trying to push a report for their own agenda. Do you follow the Sixers? Josh Harris might not even be aware that the draft is tonight. And frankly, I think Morey has been pretty reckless and got a big extension. Sixers’ ownership lets Morey do whatever he wants.

Was that deal offered to Morey? If he did turn it down I agree, but has that been confirmed?

It's almost like the only trades Daryl makes are the ones he has to.

Next years draft is always better. This years draft was supposed to be a grand slam and as per, the glitter wore off as we approached closer.

2026 has three alluring prospects at the top, but it's no certainty at anything, especially this far out. None of them look the caliber Flagg displayed in his D-1.

And then there's the value of a bird in hand. People really need to come to terms with the reality that VJ is an elite prospect, and there's substantially more to lose to trade out for a mystery box down the line.

Just speculation. If they saw the 3-7 tier of VJ, Ace, Kon, Tre, and Fears as comparable, then they aren’t going to pay to move up. However if they had Queen ranked top 10, then moving from 23 to 13 might be worth it in this eyes.

It’s more nuanced than “they offered someone else a great deal so they must’ve offered us a great deal.” Most mocks had the players from 3-7 somewhat interchangeable.

I do and I almost assuredly guarantee Daryl Morey does as well considering his tape, his data, who he took him over and how he's spoken about him before and after selecting him.

Four picks before us. I don’t know any of these guys, but Flemming seems like good value.
